The Hollower's Throne

The Hollower's Throne was once known as the Whispering Continents of Taran's Horizon. During the reign of the Elves, however, a strange phenomenon occurred: a shooting star apparently fell to earth on the Whispering Continents, and wiped all memory of those mystic lands from the minds of the Horizonites. Since then, there has been no contact between the Whispering Continents and the rest of Horizon; ships that sail in that direction find that they have somehow circumnavigated it without ever seeing it and are on the opposite shore of the known world.

What happened to the Whispering Continents, precisely, is unknown. The land of the present time seems as if it had been shaped by giant hands, molded into the precise form of some great creature's desires. The people of the now-nameless continents have no pasts, no histories; a few thousand years ago, their ancestors woke to find unfamiliar skies above them, and no memories even of what they were. Since then, three races have delineated themselves: "ogres", "humans", and "elves", the names drawn from some deep subconscious.

All three races have staked their claim to various parts of the continents, and battle or parlay as individual factions will. Above all the wars, however, hangs the nameless fear that each Thronesman carries: the feeling that, somehow, everything they know is a lie.
