Apparently, the main source of our PM10 violations are our airborne dirt...also known as dust! Looking at the chart, you can see that a particle of dust is one-third the size of the pollen Arizona honey bees often display as golden garters.
Understand that the protector's of the Nation's Environment at the EPA do not understand that the city of Phoenix, et.al., is in the middle of the Sonoran Desert ! Why is the EPA showering us with these six years of grace? Because the county of Maricopa, where resides the Valley of the Sun, in an effort to restrict PM10 'emissions', has agreed to protect sixty more miles of our desert paths with asphalt.
Observe the country of Israel, where liquor consumption as determined by the 21st Century Pharisee's in Tel Aviv is not in the best interests of the Jews. The Israeli 'National Sales Tax' (known across the ocean as the 'Value Added Tax' or VAT for short) on booze is somewhere over 100% !
Oh! You thought that all products would have the same percentage tax, did you? Not so! In a Gore administration I envision much higher VAT taxes on fast food, gasoline, works of George Orwell and SUVs and lower taxes on condoms, tofu, bicycles, and shoes.
Back in the 1980s Mr.Wonderful's business was looking for what was then termed a mini-computer. These state-of-the-art machines took up about the space of a residential bathroom and churned out so much heat that they required a dedicated air conditioning system. A 'starter' mini-computer, from DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) for example, typically consisted of a six foot tall cabinet housing the processor and its 256k of memory. The memory 'chip' was a board about the size of a cookie tin. The one disc drive resembled a clothes washer, rumbled like a Harley Hardtail and held only ten megabytes of information. When we were shopping for our first business mini-computer we were told Wang Laboratories was the only way to go. They were growing like gangbusters and their quality was equal to or better than Hewlett Packard. It seemed to me that before long Wang was easily going to overtake IBM and become the world's largest computer manufacturer. As William Shatner says, "They were big, really big." However, before our government could perform a pre-Microsoft crucifixion, Wang faded away. That's why General Reno's suit against Microsoft is both a waste of stockholders equity and taxpayer dollars. The 'computer' industry is changing so fast, by the time this anti-trust case is 'settled' Microsoft may have morphed into an entirely different entity. They may be making salt, who knows? By the way, the only thing left of Wang that anyone would be aware of today, is the lowly GIF (Graphical Interface Format) image. Wang Laboratories, now part of Unisys, held the original patent.
Mr.Wonderful was shocked as he watched Giant Janet Reno on ZDTV yesterday afternoon as she referred to herself and Assistant Attorney General Joe Klein, simply as 'Generals.' Janet,(dammit) you are letting another one of your many facades slip. This particular facade had covered up your desire to be named General of America and to control everything from our economy to Elian. I couldn't believe it when Judge 'Jumpin' Jackson mentioned in his ruling the "...violence that Microsoft has done..." I wonder what terms he would use to describe General Janet's maneuvers at Waco? I hate Microsoft as much as the next guy, but I distrust the government and especially this administration so much more. I spit blood every time I think back to when I was an employer and was informed by Washington exactly what I could and could not pay my troops. The Fed's were running my company, yet supplied no capital. They shared in 100% of my profits and taxed 100% of my payroll, but yet allowed us to claim only 50% of our losses. And because of their incredible mis-management of the Savings and Loan Crisis, my partner and I lost the company we had toiled at for over two decades. Competition can be tough but government intervention is often ruinous. Today these toadies are after Microsoft, perhaps they just started at the top and are working their way down, designing a new business model that will suit General Janet?
Do you still believe McCain is a conservative?
Today he demands that health insurers cover children's plastic surgery. He has teamed with a fine looking Republican woman, who voted to not impeach President Clinton, Maine's Senator Olympia Snowe.
The bill they have introduced has the unseemly name of "The Child Deformity Bill." The McCain family bemoans the fact that they have spent their own money to fix the face of their adopted child. (As usual, your humble Mr.Wonderful has more insight into this situation than most. Understand that Senator McCain's children and my children went to the same private school. Of course, Mrs.Wonderful dropped off my pair, while the McCain maid or bodyguard dropped off little Jack.) I remember one year alone, Cindy-Hemsley-McCain received $700,000 in salary from her father's Budweiser franchise. And, always attempting to appear the common man, Senator McCain now wails about the $40k bill to fix the facial defects of his adopted daughter from Bangladesh. Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. Two things. If you can't afford children, don't adopt and if you do adopt don't adopt children with birth defects.

Well, well. Isn't this interesting? Janet Reno and her storm troopers are threatening to take the Cuban child-refugee, Elian, by force from the arms of his aunts and uncles and cousins. I can just see Reno now, down in the U.S. Marshal's warehouse checking her reserves of CS gas and orange striped barricades. The very flammable CS gas will be used to disable the relatives of Elian and the barricades will be used to keep the media, and everyone else 'safe' and at least 5,000 yards away. Do you comprehend why our Founding Father's incorporated the 2nd Amendment into our Constitution? Even if these Cuban-American patriots never chamber a cartridge, our Federal Government is given pause. A few years ago it was Waco, a few months ago it was the crushing dollar settlement forced on the tobacco companies, a few weeks ago it was OSHA proposing forcible searches of private properties, a few days ago it was weapon manufacturer Smith & Wesson acquiescing to irrational safety locks and today it is poor little Elian and his loving Latino relatives.
Tomorrow will it be you and I taking cover behind the overturned tables of our nearest McDonald's? Or will we be hiding our SUV's under brush and camouflage netting to protect them from seizure by this evil administration? Living in the Southwest, Mr.Wonderful reads of hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens washing ashore annually in the Sonoran desert.
(The other day, outside of Elfrida, Arizona, a rancher's bullet missed the wild dog it was destined for only to lodge in the leg of an illegal alien sleeping under the prickly shade of a nearby saguaro.) I also am aware that the largest, most violent street-gang, comprising of more than 2,500 illegal aliens is head-quartered in central Phoenix. Both of these groups have escaped not from a brutal, murderous and bankrupt communist regime, but from Democratic Republics to our south. Ms. Reno, why not prosecute and deport these criminals first and then turn your attention to the incredibly minor Elian Gonzales situation?
