| 3/14/01: Over at the U.K. based Anorak site, they detail how a Hyatt Corporation chauffeur, who sent a single rose and a generic note to customer Julia Roberts was fired for it. (By the way, I believe Julia is one of the most genuine and likeable super-stars in Hollywoodland.) |

3/12/01: For those of you who have given up auditioning for Scottsdale's Stagebrush Theatre (and I count myself in that number) I understand from Kyle Lawson, that D.Scott Withers is taking over the reins from the exiting T.J.Weltzien. So, now may be the time to venture over to 7020 East 2nd Street and expose ourselves. I mean our talents, that is!

3/11/01: Master Thespian noticed that Lee Struck, also a Herberger Stages graduate, has been cast in Desert Foothills Theatre production of Escape From Papago Park penned by Ben Tyler. It opens this Friday March 16th, 2001. 'Escape' auditions were probably the first time two Arizona Strupp's auditioned for the same play. Apparently, your Master Thespian, being only 50% German, raised by a father who delighted in translating Adolph Hitler's, World War II black & white newsreel speeches into English, wasn't 'German-enough' to get cast! (Just kidding Mr. Barker, sir.) |

3/09/01: Now Dee Rich, as the eight-armed Charlotte, has made the pages of
The Arizona Republic's Thursday entertainment insert, The Rep. Maybe I should rename this web site "The Report on Dee Rich", eh?
3/07/01: Lloyd Grove at the Washington Post reports: "Newly single Tom Cruise comes to town this summer to film Steven Spielberg's upcoming science-fiction thriller, Minority Report, in which Nicole Kidman's estranged husband portrays a cop in the year 2080. Filming starts in Los Angeles in a few weeks and moves to Washington in June. Local real estate agent Pauline Thompson told us yesterday that movie executives asked her to find them some office space in the metro area. 'They've asked me to scout out a 20,000-square-foot flexible-space building to house their administrative support offices, wardrobe and all that,' she said." (Minority Report auditions were posted at The Casting Site.)
3/06/01: The "Most Boring Films of the Year Awards" at The Boring Institute web site. Where you will read such things written about Battlefield Earth as: "This is possibly the worst film of the decade, an embarrassment for everyone."

3/05/01: Master Thespian noticed that Gina Tleel, Herberger Stages 1999/2000 graduate, has been cast in On The Spot Theatre production of Love Waits penned by local Terry Tafoya Earp. It runs through March 31st, 2001. Congratulations to Gina!

3/02/01: Master Thespian has discovered the opening date of the new downtown Phoenix 5,000 seat Dodge Theatre to be April 1st, 2002. I have only thirteen months to get my stuff together and get cast in The Lion King! |
