The American Academy of Dramatic Arts new Hollywood campus 1/31/01: The American Academy of Dramatic Arts has deigned to travel to Phoenix arriving on February 24th, 2001, to view auditions for entry into their 6-Week summer program or their 2-Year fall programs. There is a $50 filing fee and you must have an appointment. Visit their site at www.aada.org for more information.
1/30/01: I've had these links for awhile and have just thought of a great use for them. They are links to a now defunct organization by the title of Arizona Arts Review Online. This group reviewed Arizona plays from 1995/1996 season, the 1996/1997 season and the 1997/1998 season. We can visit these links to obtain a brief synopsis of plays we aren't familiar with and read the critic's response to the particular performance. 1/27/01: In last night's third act of "You Can't Take it With You" I thought I'd do things a little different. So after the curtain call, and as I as walking backstage to greet my thousands of adoring fans, I noticed that I had not remembered to zip my fly! Am I now ready for a David Mamet play?
1/17/01: I'm old enough to have witnessed a few of my friends retire after putting in thirty or so years of labor. Labor doing work they more or less hated, all the while collecting bushels of money for it. Now, in retirement, they finally concentrate on doing what they love to do. How wonderful it would be if we could begin our labors doing what we love and retire the same day we expire. 1/14/01: Yesterday, using a ticket given me by the author of The Wallace and Ladmo Show, Ben Tyler, I was fortunate enough to see the play at the Herberger Stage West. The television show, on which the play was entirely based, went on for three and one half decades and was a very important part of my life as a child often home sick from school, suffering from asthma, in the days of black and white TV, four channels and truly nothing to watch. (It now comes to me why I read literally hundreds of science fiction books during my youth.) My father attempting to impress one of his pre-marriage girlfriends. Drawing by Bill Thompson.I had forgotten that Bill Thompson (Wallace) began as a cartoonist and that he had sketched the drawings that were used at my father's 1974 retirement party. Oh, the show? Too much for me! I spent the two hours squirming in my seat, crying, weeping, laughing and grinning. With all my gasping, grunting and grasping of tissues, my seat neighbors must have thought I was suffering from Tourette's syndrome complicated by a bad acid trip. When I stumbled out of the theater, I felt as if I had gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson . . . but I had earned the judges decision!
1/10/01: See Master Thespian, the ugliest mug on the "New Faces" page! But I make up for that with my resumé that could be printed on the inside of a matchbook cover.   On January 17th, 2001, I received an email requesting me to read over a movie script. The director found my photo at The Casting Site! (Note: I received a free year's membership, that I did not request, for posting thecastingsite.com logo on this page.)
(child) Nicole. Click to Enlarge. 11/03/2000: Nicole Weltzien appears as three year old Rebecca in the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, The Lost Child, on Sunday, November 19th, 2000, on CBS at 8:00 to 10:00 PM Arizona time, 7:00PM West Coast time. (11/20/00): Hey! I saw The Lost Child and much of it was filmed in Phoenix and around Arizona. I also saw local actress and acquaintance, Patty Suarez! I cried a lot in the first hour, even at the Hallmark Commercials, but crying is good for heterosexual male thespians.
