Brandy & Monica remain at #1 selling over one million singles in three weeks. Shania Twain is 2nd and Next is 3rd. In the album sales, Destiny's Child is improving once again. It moves up from 85th to 78th. It's a great album, if you haven't bought it, your missing out on something. Master P is #1, with the Smashing Pumpkins landing at #2.

Usher - My way was the most improved song. In the R&B section, With Me Part I also moves up from 47th to 41th! This is what they said about it:

The follow-up to NO, NO, NO by Destiny's Child continues to build in a number of key markets. WITH ME PART I is strong in Atlanta, San Francisco, Memphis, St.Louis and Richmond. The side moves 47-41 on this week's chart.

JUNE 12, 1998

Destiny's Child is still on tour with Boyz II Men, Next, and Uncle Sam. They had a very nice report on Destiny's Child. Here it is:

HIGHWAY OF DESTINY

Columbia Records R&B female vocal quartet Destiny's Child are currently on the road with Boyz II Men, Next, and Uncle Sam for the group's first series of major concert dates.

Destiny's Child exploded onto the scene on the strength of the quartet's debut single, "No No No," from their eponymous debut album. The irresistible single, which was certified platinum by the RIAA as of February 25, 1998, remains a chart-topping phenomenon: "No No No" has been #1 on the Billboard R&B Singles chart, #1 on the Soundscan R&B Singles Core Stores chart, #1 on the Soundscan Singles chart, and reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles chart. Released to stores on February 17, more than 300,000 copies of the Destiny's Child album have been shipped to date.

A dynamic and sensual live act, Destiny's Child has appeared on "Keenan Ivory Wayans," "Soul Train," "Vibe," "Live with Regis & Kathie Lee," and "Showtime At The Apollo."

USA Today gave Destiny's Child a three-star review, saying, "This quartet of Houston 16-year-olds makes its debut with an album worthy of a more veteran act. Despite their youth, these women have been together for eight years, and their harmonies benefit from that familiarity on such sexy ballads as Tell Me and Killing Time. The thumping No, No, No Part 2 features the Fugees' Wyclef Jean, who also produced the top 10 pop hit. Jermaine Dupri and Master P contribute two very different versions -- one mellow, one gritty -- of With Me. A cover of the Commodores' Sail On sounds a little odd without Lionel Richie's countrified vocals, but the quartet recovers well with the heartfelt My Time Has Come."

The Chicago Sun-Times' Lisa Lenoir concurred with her own three-star review which read, "....this freshman effort from the Houston-based group is to be commended for its engaging approach. Artfully mixed in are silky tunes such as 'Tell Me' and 'Second Nature,' and the old school R&B remake, 'Illusion.' Destiny's Child entertains throughout with songs that satisfy any listening mood."

JUNE 6, 1998

In The american countdown, No No No moved up one more place this week. It went from 29th to 28th. Apparently though, No No No is now disimproving in airplay, so it should go down next week. Also, it has strong songs behind it, as Brandy & Monica entered the chart in 29th and Celine Dion in 33rd. Natalie Imbruglia is #1 again!!!

MTV is the best countdown. No No No seems to have no problem reaching #1. This week it flew from #8th to #4th!!! K-Ci & Jojo, Natalie Imbruglia, and Janet are in the top three. All three of them are old songs too! It has been third in MTV Jams for most of the week, behind Mariah Carey (8th) and Brandy & Monica (13th). Hopefully, No No No will be #1 next week.

In the World Chart Show ,With Me Part I is finally moving up this countdown. After being a hitbound song a couple of weeks ago, it is now #102. It should move up quickly. In the R&B world chart show, With Me Part I moved from 57th to 47th. This is what they had to say about it:

WITH ME PART I, the follow-up to Destiny Child's R&B/Pop smash NO, NO, NO is breaking big in San Francisco, Houston, Miami, Atlanta, St.Louis, Memphis, Richmond and Birmingham. The side jumps up to No.47 on this week's survey.

JUNE 4, 1998

In the American Countodwn, No No No improves once again!!! This time, they reach their peak position, moving from 31th to 29th! Destiny's Child got passed by Madonna's new song, who moved from 30th to 17th. Matchbox 20 was the only debut with Real World. They are the only threat to No No No for next week! Natalie Imbruglia spends a 6th week at #1, but Alanis Morissette and Shania Twain are right behind her now!

In MTV, No, No, No continues to improve! They moved from 11th to 8th!!! They have a huge chance of reaching #1! It depends if Mariah Carey, Brandy & Monica, and the Goo Goo Dolls don't catch up to it. Semisonic and Madonna were the two newcomers to the chart. Natalie Imbruglia, once again, is #1.

No No No is the oldest song in the R&B countdown. I think it will be the #1 song for 1998 or at leat be in the top 5. We'll see! This week it drops two spots, from 12th to 14th. Janet Jackson is the new #1 song, knocking down Next. Next week, Brandy & Monica should take the top spot.

Destiny's Child is out of the top twenty in the Billboard singles. They move down from 19th to 21th. It has been in the countdown for 23 weeks. Brandy & Monica flew up from 23rd to 1st! Next is 2nd, and Shania Twain in 3rd.

There were huge changes in the World Chart Show this week again! No No No drops three spots, moving from 32nd to 35th. Brandy & Monica jumped 22 places here too! They are the new #1 song knocking K-Ci & Jojo to second. Other fast moving songs are Jon B, Alanis Morissette, and Sparkle.

In England, With Me Part I is apparently getting a lot of airplay. The single will be out very soon!

JUNE 3, 1998

Destiny's Child did a live performance at Kube 93.3FM in Seattle at 3:30PM on May 29. They also appeared on VTV. They showed them signing autographs and how they performed in Vancouver.

JUNE 1, 1998

The Boyz II Men concert was the best concert I've been to all year. Destiny's Child was the first to go on stage. They began their performance by dancing to Let's Ride by Montell Jordan. After that, they shook GM Place with No No No Part I and With Me Part I. They then began a medley of songs. They sang Sail On, Tell Me, and Killing Time. Then, No No No Part II ended their performance. I can't explain with words how good they were, but it was really fun. Those who missed it, really missed something big. Next performed after them, followed by Boyz II Men. Unfortunately, Uncle Sam, Mya, and Dru Hill didn't make it.

Before the concert, I met Destiny's Child at Virgin Records. They look even better in person than in their CD. I got all four of their autographs on a Destiny's Child shirt. I also took around 10 pictures of all four of them. I'll soon put the pctures up, after I scan them. They were all so nice. Kelly said she liked my hair too. Their was a huge line-up, which ended up in the streets. Next also arrived at Virgin Records for around 10 minutes. I actually talked to them for a while too.
