Speechmaking Made Easy: “71 Preparation Days Left Until….”
Brian Cavanaugh, Speakwell Honeywell

Of course, the actual number of preparation days is dependent on when the Club International Contests begin in January of 2002.  This interactive workshop gives people an opportunity to discuss ways of creating an effective International Speech.

The workshop will focus around the idea of researching, choosing, creating, wrapping and presenting a Christmas gift to someone you really love.  We’ll discuss the process that's involved in selecting that special Christmas gift for someone.  Creating an International Speech is analogous to selecting and presenting that special Christmas gift.  Using the Judge's ballot as a guide, we will discuss what is involved in creating an International Speech.

Finding Speech Topics:  Tools & Process for Creating Ideas
Ann-Louise Hall, VP Membership Class Act Toastmasters

Ann-Louise Hall is currently the VP of Membership for the Class Act Toastmasters Club of Phoenix.  Ann has been married 34 years, and has three grown children, and one (soon to be three) grandchild. Currently Ann is employed as transcript coordinator for the University of Phoenix, where she is also pursuing her bachelor’s degree in management.

While VP of education for her club, Class Act Toastmasters, Ann noticed a reoccurring problem. Members were not progressing towards their CTM because they were perplexed about speech topics.  Ann developed and presented this workshop to her club to address this concern.

Building Your Career Portfolio
by Carol A. Poore, ABC, MBA

Do you spend hours slaving away at your business or job, only to find that you accomplish endless projects at the expense of fulfilling your own, personal purpose?

Have you wondered what your next leadership move might be, or what specific career investments might help you develop new skills that pay big dividends over time?

Are long-term customer relationships becoming more important, as you aim to bring a deeper level of purpose and value to the table?

If you answered yes to any of the questions above, you will want to attend Building Your Career Portfolio.  Author and speaker Carol A. Poore, ABC, MBA will focus on four critical career investments that yield big payoffs over time.  An inspirational and interactive presentation, “Career Portfolio” is designed to:

· Help you develop your personal (and professional) purpose, and
Introduce the CareerPortfolio™ — a combination of four career
investments that can prepare you for pivotal turning points in
your business and personal life.

Carol will inspire you to consider your career as a group of investments similar to a financial portfolio.  How well-diversified is your career?  Are you putting all of your investments of time and effort into one job?  Or, are you making investments in other career assets that enable you to grow your “career wealth” over time?  Carol will combine the “how-tos” with real examples of people who are achieving their dreams.

By attending this workshop, you can ensure the career investments you make today will minimize your exposure to marketplace risk tomorrow.  Best yet, your CareerPortfolio™ can help you maximize your ability to make a difference in your world — the unique place and time in which you live. (Carole’s book Building Your Career Portfolio will be made available to those in attendance, with book signing available.)
