Chapter 15

Before I knew it I found myself in Nicks car on my to the airport. My face was tear-stained and my body trembling. I had already said my good-byes to everyone and we all agreed to keep in close contact. I had basically spent the whole morning crying, and was terrified to say goodbye to Nick.

He was still going to keep the apartment and when I returned we planned on living together again.

As I felt tears flow down my cheeks, Nicks thumb slowly caressed my hand, while I gripped his tightly. Nick too was having trouble controlling his tears, but tried to stay strong for my sake.

We were running late and by the time we reached the airport terminal my flight was already being called. Nick took both my hands and stared me in the eyes, "I love you, always remember that."

"I will," I said before giving Nick one last kiss.

Tears flooded down my face and Nick brought his hand up, and wiped them away with the back of his shaking hand.

"Nick, I have to go, I love you." I said, picking up my bag from the floor.

"I'll call you everyday, and write you in-between," he said letting me loose. "Oh yeah, look in your bag when you get on the plane," he finished. I nodded and slowly turned around, never looking back.

When I got on the plane I reached in my bag and pulled out a small package with a note attached. I gasped when I saw what it was.

Enclosed in the small box was a beautiful diamond ring, with the inscription, "Together, Forever…Always." The small piece of paper read:

Mandy, I love you, and want to share my life with you! Will you marry me? Love, Nick.

"Woah," I said to myself.

I loved Nick but I'm not sure I was ready for marriage yet, well, I mean I'm only Nineteen, my mother would have my head, if I got married so soon.
