Coiled Pumpkins!

Most of you are doing a great job on your coiled pumpkins. Please remember these few hints: 1)when you're scoring the inside of the pumpkin, your other hand should be on the outside of the form supporting that pressure 2) when you're scoring the outside of the pumpking, your other hand should be on the inside of the form supporting that pressure 3)pay particular attention to the moisture content at the bottom of the base - it's older, drier clay - don't let it dry out and don't over wet it either 4)make sure that your pumpkin is totally covered with damp paper towels and plastic bag 5)don't wrap the entire board with plastic, just the entire pumpkin.

You've been building up coil walls with majolica clay and slipped/scored them together securely. In addition, some of your projects have had "surgery" to accelerate the closing up of the form. After the form was closed, students pressed thier index finger knuckle down from the top of the form. Next, students drew lines from the top down to the bottom then beveled, smoothed and rounded these edges.
