Guidelines for Paletteers Art Shows

Works Eligible: Members only - three original entries in any of the following categories: Oils and Acrylics, Watercolors, Pastels, Photography, and Misc. (pen/ ink, collage, etc.). Work previously shown in a Paletteer art show is not eligible for entry.

Specifications: No work shall exceed 36" x 28" framed or 128" total of outside dimensions. Any oversized work may be hung at the discretion of the show committee. Work must be securely framed complete with screw eyes and wire. Pastels, watercolors, photography, and pen/ink must be framed, under glass or acrylic, and ready for hanging. No clips are allowed. Gallery wrap or Studio wrap canvas work is acceptable without frame if all four sides are painted and no staples are showing. Works improperly framed will not be accepted. No exceptions will be made. No POR (price on request).

Registration: A registration fee may be charged to defray the cost of publicity, programs, and other expenses.

Collectors' Corner (Summer Show): Artists may submit three additional works in this category. Participants may, if convenient, replace any art sold in this "corner" display during the show. Work must measure no larger than 11" x 14", appropriately framed, and priced at $100 or less. All artwork must be ready to hang.

Commission: A 20% commission will be collected from members on all Summer Show sales. Checks for sales at the Summer Show will be mailed to the artist from the treasurer within thirty days. There is no commission collected on sales at other shows, unless stated otherwise.

Removal: All entries will remain on exhibit for the length of the Summer Show, except works may be removed from the Collectors' Corner at the time of sale. Works will be released to the exhibitor at the designated end date of the show. For all other shows, work may be removed at the time of sale/payment. We are not responsible for works remaining after the close of the show.

Note of Importance: The show committee reserves the right to reject any piece. The committee will take all reasonable care in handling the work, but it is understood that all works are submitted at the owner's risk. The Paletteers are not responsible for any thefts, damages, errors, or omissions.
