Using HTML

Using Browsers to Read Web Pages

Every Web page has an unique address. This address is called a Uniform Resource Locator or URL. When a viewer types in a URL, a browser locates the page, interprets the HTML tags and displays the contents of the page.

Putting Your Pages on the World Wide Web

To put pages on the World Wide Web you need a connection to the Internet (universities or Internet Service Providers offer Web browsers and provide internet services). Several browsers are available, Netscape, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Net Cruiser, Mosaic, and America Online (AOL).
