Tightening Ropes
-Leo-
It just keeps piling up. I don’t need this shit. I don’t need this shit. I had
to deal with her fast. I rolled back my shoulders and drew a breath.
“She’s my cousin?” I said. Why did it come out as a question? Jenny raised her
eyebrow.
“Your cousin?” she asked. I nodded.
“Right…” she muttered. We stood there. Why won’t she leave? Jenny looked like
she could burn hold through my soul.
“Can I come in?” she asked with her hands on her hips.
“No!” I shouted. I tried to slam the door in her face. Jenny tried to force it
open. She used her body to keep it open.
“Hey!” I shouted. “What are you doing?!”
“Let me in!” she yelled.
“No! Go away! Get out! Get out!” I shouted. She kept pushing her way in. I think
Kana was the one yelling. I gritted my teeth.
“Stop this!” I shouted. I managed to push her out the door. Jenny had her nails
out like claws.
“Leo?” I heard as I started to close the door. We looked up and saw Kagome
staring at us. She held her phone up.
“I tried to call but you didn’t pick up,” Kagome said.
“Oh and who are you?” Jenny asked.
“Nobody! Now please leave!” I shouted. She rolled her eyes.
“Fine,” she said. Jenny turned and stormed off. She stuck up her middle finger
and tongue at Kagome as she walked by. Kagome snorted.
“Well that’s just rude,” she said. “Who was that?”
“No on! What do you want?” I asked.
“We have to go,” she said. I made a face.
“Huh?” I asked.
They found another shard,
Kana said. I stood frozen for a moment.
“Oh…” I said. There’s that too.
Now that I think about it, it all keeps piling up. My family, Alisa, Kana, those
damned jewel shards, my master, and…
Wait… my master?
“Kagome… we’re in trouble. Serious trouble,” Kana said in my voice. I covered my
mouth. Kagome gave us an odd look.
“What do you mean?” she asked. I tried to shut that stupid little nymph up.
She’s going to make the pile topple over if she doesn’t stop. But no matter how
hard I tried, she wouldn’t stop.
“Keisuke-sama is back!” she shouted.
“What?!” Kagome shouted. It was too late to stop now. She just made things
messier. Thanks for that, Kana. You are such a great help. I didn’t look forward
to the intervention coming next.
