Hello and welcome to my personal site. I am Saul D. Orihuela aka: DRAGON. I love to draw and paint. However, as you will see, my skills have been lent to the comic book industry for the past year as a colorist.

For those of you who do not know what a colorist is or even does, well, we are the folks that add life (color) to black and white art work. Basically, another artist known as a penciler draws the pages to a comic book using his/her pencils. Then, these penciled pages go to an inker which helps enhance the penicls by laying black inda ink down. Then, comes the colorist (me) and adds the colors to the pages. There are other steps taken after this, however, I will just stop there as I do not want to put anyone asleep.

Now, I have placed my 'claws' upon such books as The Uncanny Xmen and ThunderBolts from Marvel, The Filth from DC comics, G.I. Joe, The Micronauts and Frontline from Image Comics/Devils Due, Tomb Raider from TopCow (as an assistant to Brian Buccellato)The Gift from Raven Publishing (in which Ranae Geerlings is editor), The Rift from GI Studios, and Pulpculture.com.

As well as a slew of other projects such as for Hasbro, Highlygraphic, and several board game companies. To include works for the U.S. military, and too many others to name.

Below you will find just a few of the images that I have worked on. Many are from my professional career as a colorist, some are freelance work for clients out side the comic book industry and yet others are just concepts and loose ideas.
