On a serious note....
Topic: God things
We've all been torn up inside over the recent news about shootings in schools. All across the country, it happens.....so much hate....so random....is there anywhere that is safe in this day and age?

I have to admit, I cannot wrap my head around this one, especially in my present condition. But today I was on one of my daily jaunts around blogosphere and read this, over at Owlhaven.

There is one place where it is safe...

(((hug))) It's good to know you are through the surgery. I know this weekend is going to be hard for you. Maybe things will start flowing naturally by Monday and it's just the medication slowing things down.

I haven't had a chance to talk you this week. Not since our homecoming dance last Friday night. This week has been very traumatic for everyone. I was asked to chaperone the dance by a very close friends daughter. Kristen was not going, but I made her since I had to. Within 20 minutes of getting there, I look over and the principal and school security are frisking a kid and pull a gun out of his pocket. Later, when talking to the principal I asked if it was loaded and he said it was. We are not safe. I had my child in a gym out of my selfishness with a kid with a loaded gun. We have never had this kind of problems, not until Katrina and the influx from New Orleans.

Saturday and Sunday I was sick. Then I remembered what Jesus said, let him worry. It took a tremedous load off, but I will never look at life, school the same again. Seeing a loaded gun a ninth grader has in a room of kids was a eye opener. You hear about it, read about it, but it's real.....very real.

Get well, soon, walk, even dragging the bag, it helped Kim get rid of hers when she had her surgery.

Love you,
Lanell

Lanell...oh my goodness! It is freaky these days just to let your kids go out the door....much less to be in night time social things, band things, or go to work at the mall, etc, etc, etc......these are dangerous, serious times.

I think putting your mind on Christ like you did is the only thing we can do besides locking up our families.....=\

((hugs))
