With making a birthday cake for my son's first birthday, I became very interested in cake decorating. That's how it all started. I'm just learning and am having fun experimenting with different things.

SHORT CAKE DECORATING BIO: I worked in my moms cake and candy supply store and she made me take classes to help her as she also did cakes. I had made cakes before, but never really had classes (other than 4H when I was about 10, which my mom taught). I helped her and worked side by side with her for 2 years and we learned a lot together. SHORT FAMILY BIO:I have been married to dh since June 88. SHORT BIO: I'm a very beginner cake decorator and a mom to two young girls (ages 4 and 1). I also work part time in the computer software industry. I've always been interested in cake decorating and started to actually try it with my kid's birthday cakes. I've been having a great time so far, and am really enjoying doing a visual art -- which in general I have no skill or eye for.

I became interested in cake decorating after having ordered several cakes from grocery stores that were not done as I ordered. The last straw was my daughter's 3rd birthday cake. "Happy Birthday" was written UPSIDE DOWN! My SIL convinced me I could make them myself, so I signed up for the 1st Wilton class in November 2002. I have taken all 3 Wilton courses, and I just love decorating! My husband and I have 2 wonderful children, ages 5 and 3, and 3 cats.

SHORT BIO: Hi, my name is Pam. I'm 36, and I've been decorating cakes since April of 2003. I got my start with my oldest daughter's 3rd birthday, and to-date, July 2004, have done probably about 30 cakes. I've discovered that cake decorating is a passion of mine, and even something that I'm relatively ok at! Being a stay-at-home mom or 2 adorable girls (ages 2 and 4), this gives me the freedom to have an income in my own timetable doing something I enjoy very much. I'm just now launching a cake decorating business on the side, "Cakes (etc) by Pam". All my cakes, fillings, and icings (except Royal and fondant) are made from scratch with TLC. SHORT BIO: Hello everyone! My name is Paula, I have been married to by husband for 7yrs and we have 2 children, Logan (4yrs) and daughter Taylor (1yrs). I fell in love with cake decorating almost instantly. I took all 3 cake decorating courses and just loved it. Less than month after I finished my classes I had my first wedding cake order (which was pictured in one of the cake contests) and a couple of months after that I did my sisters wedding cake as well. I love making all the different kinds of icing flowers and I am hoping to learn gum paste real soon. I have also just started a home based business called "Wedding Cake Creations" that I am very excited about. I am looking foward in seeing everyone elses accomplishments and meeting lots of great people at this site.

SHORT BIO: I'm a homeschooling mom of 3, Brandi, 22 and married, Boomer, 9, and Kennedy, 7. I have been married to my wonderful hubby Steve for 10 years now and he's a great helper in my cake decorating. My son-in-law is my biggest fan. I get calls every other day from him wondering what kind of cake i made!! We also have a pomeranian, (who is the love of my life) named punkin, and 2 gunea pigs. I started learning to decorate cakes in january of 2004. It was something i had dabbled in for years but I started to get serious about it. It is great therapy for me!!! I love to work with buttercream and have yet to try gumpaste but im getting anxious to continue learning!! I just love our little "family" here at cakedecorating101. You will never find a better bunch of people for support and encouragement!

SHORT BIO: I am a busy mom of two boys (aged 8 and 2). I homeschool my older son and decorate cakes part time so I can stay home with my boys. I also teach Wilton Method cake decorating at Michaels so that I can get away from them once in a while! I gave up modeling and ballet to have a family, so I needed some way to express myself and cake decorating has become my creative outlet. I love to share what I've learned along the way. I tell my students, "I've learned by trial and error; sometimes trial, mostly error!"
