Beast of Burden
(struggle, triumph)

< Previous----Next>

This image is derived from the ancient Neolithic culture of present-day Ukraine. Emerging around 5000 B.C., this culture is known as the Tripillian culture. As with all early cultures, survival was paramount. One cannot tell if this animal is an ox, a donkey, a horse, or some other animal. What matters is its primary function, that of working hard toward a good harvest and ensuring survival for its owners. Today acquiring food may not be a major burden for many, but other burdens may be just as crucial to the human struggle for survival and happiness. Hopefully, this pendant will make the burdens of its wearer easier to bear, and help the wearer triumph over adversity. Made from glazed red earthenware clay, the back of this limited edition piece displays the artist's signature stamp and the LQP chop mark, 1 1/2" high.
