Penny For Your Thoughts
Chapter 5

~*~*~*~*~ Years Later ~*~*~*~*~*~

Jessica is 27 today. As her and Kevin stand in the bride room just enjoying each others company and Jessica putting on the finishing touches to her dress and makeup.
"I can't believe this is happening!" Jessica exclaimed nerbously.
"Me neither. My little girl is all grown up now. Soon I'll be hearing the pitter patter of little feet?" Kevin said sad yet happyily at first then with a little chuckle.
"Not for awhile sorry! So what do you want a boy or girl? Just so I'll tell Scott to plan it." Jessica said looking at Kevin in the mirror.
"Um.." pondering for a moment, "I don't care as long as its as wonderful and caring as you."Kevin said making Jessica blush a little. Just then the rest of the guys walked in. Jessica turned around and they all stopped dead in their tracks. They all considered her the little sis they never had. Except who already had some she was just another sister he wished was family. But now seeing her in a wedding gown looking nervous and happy and excited all at the same time made them stop and stare. She looked absolutely beautiful in her white wedding dress.
"You look beautiful!" Brian said at last. He had married a few years earlier and were expecting a baby boy in a couple months. Kevin never did remarry. A.J. was dating at the moment. Howie had proposed and was to be married in September. Nick was on the very of marriage but was considering it at the moment.
"Thank-you! I'm so glad you guys are here!" Jessica said feeling herself blush again. "Well I think I speak for all of us when I say that were honored to be here in the most wonderous & memorious day of your life." Kevin said.
"Acually the second most memormious day of my life."
"What do you mean?"
"Finding out you were my father was the best day of my life. Then came the day I felt like family to you all." Jessica said. Her and Kevin remembering the day of there little conversation. That was the one moment that they had felt closest to each other.
"Hey guys its time." Donna, Jessica good friend, said soming in the doorway.
"OK We'll be there in a moment." Howie said. They all hugged Jessica and kissed her then left. Leaving Jessica and Kevin in the room by them selves.
"Well my lovely daughter its time I walked you down the ailse." Kevin stated holding his hand out for her. She took his arm and walked out the door. As they were about to walk through the doors to where everyone & the groom Jessica held him up a moment.
"I love you Dad. I'm glad your here with me today." While they were walking down the ailse KEvin smiled ear to ear. This was the first time Jessica had ever called him "dad". HE understood her reasoning not to call him dad. Because after living with people who she thought was her "mom & dad" it was hard to call someone else Dad. But now this was going to be the best day for him and Jessica both.
They reached the alter. Kevin kissed her and gave her away and the preacher started to proceedings.

~*~*~*~*~*~ At the Reception ~*~*~*~*~*~

"We have a treat for our dear Jessica and Scott. I being her father are proud to be alive here today. Brian, Nick, Howie, and A.J. feeling as Jessica is the little sister they wished they had. I know Scott will take good care of her. For if he dosen't all of us will hunt you down." All the guys chuckled after giving him an evil look and him being totally innocent. "But here is a special thing that expresses our feelings about and for Jessica." And with that Kevin, Nick, Howie, A.J., and Brian headed up to the stage. The D.J. put in the music and the song began:

There's two things I know for sure.
She was sent here from heaven, and she's daddy's little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night, she talks to Jesus, and I close my eyes.
And I thank God for all the joy in my life,
Oh, but most of all, for...

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.
"Walk beside the pony, daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny, daddy, but I sure tried."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every morning, and butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet sixteen today,
She's looking like her momma a little more every day.
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and makeup, from ribbons and curls.
Trying her wings out in a great big world.
But I remember...

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you, daddy, but if you don't mind,
I'm only going to kiss you on the cheek this time."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right.
To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses at night.

All the precious time ... Like the wind, the years go by
Precious butterfly ... Spread your wings and fly

She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride room just staring at her,
she asked me what I'm thinking, and I said "I'm not sure,
I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl." Then she leaned over... and gave me...

Butterfly kisses, with her mama there sticking little flowers all up in her hair
"Walk me down the aisle, daddy, it's just about time"
"Does my wedding gown look pretty, daddy?" "Daddy, don't cry."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right
To deserve her love every morning, and butterfly kisses
I couldn't ask God for more. Man, this is what love is.
I know I've gotta let her go, but I'll always remember
every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses...
