The Oasis of Marr is located between the northern and southern part of the Desert of Ro.  It is a passageway for players trying to reach either Freeport, Oggok or Grobb.

The Oasis a wide variety of things to kill and is good for characters of all levels.  Lower level characters, around level 12 to 16 can hunt a variety of undeads that roam the Oasis.  Characters of level 16 to 22 can hunt in one of the many Orc camps spread thoughout the Oasis.  You can find some of these camps either close to the mountains, to the very north of the Oasis or closer to the shore, near the zone to South Ro.  High level characters can also have some fun here as a large population of Sand Giants constantly roam the Oasis.  These players can also hunt Specters that spawn in the middle of the lake, on a small island.  This lake is also home to a few aquagoblins.  They spawn underwater, in the middle of the lake inside an underwater tower.  I attempted to kill a few once but I could never do it since a Sand Giant kept on killing me over and over again before I could approach the tower..

The most popular target here in the Oasis though are the different species of crocodiles.  In order from easier to harder, they are Caimans (around level 13), Crocodiles (around level 15), Deepwater Caimans (around level 17), and Deepwater Crocodiles (around level 19).  They make a good target for necromancers as you will be able to solo them fairly easily.

The best tactic when hunting the crocs is to stay near the shore and attack the crocs that spawn nearby.  Once you get the kill, head to one of the two pillars that are inside the lake but very near the shore.  You will be able to climb it high enough to recover from your previous battle.  These pillars are pretty safe as most people respect it and do not pull creatures there and Sand Giants do not come to it.

The Oasis of Marr would be an excellent place for experience if it was not for one detail.  It is pretty much always very crowded, making it hard to find something to kill as most people stay close to the two pillars or camping near one of the orc camps.  But you can still get reasonable XP.  Do not expect great loot though as most orcs and undeads carry nothing special while the crocs carry nothing at all (ok, sometimes you get meat but how good is that?).  Research components do seem to be more commonly found in the Oasis though.

Things you should know: There are several creatures that will attack you on sight.  The one you should fear the most is the Sand Giant as this level 40 monster will kill you very fast.  Others such as the desert madman and pumas do attack you depending on how low level you are.  The other large creature in the Oasis is the big crocodile called Lockjaw of LJ as he is commonly known.  He is around level 27 and can hit quite hard.  He is a popular hunting target though as even a group of low level players (around 16+) can take him.
