Lavastorm is located at the very northeast of the Antonica continent. It can be accessed through Nektulos Forest, the dwelling place of many Dark Elves as their home town, Neriak, is located right next to it.

Lavastorm is a pretty nice place for mid-level characters, providing good Experience Points with a reasonably little danger of dying.  At least when considering creatures.  Lavastorm is filled with lava pools that will kill you in a second if falling into one.  And that is not the worst part of it.  If you fall in one you will never be able to recover your corpse as it is consumed by the lava.  Thus, stay as far away from them as you can.

The best tactic in Lavastorm is to stay inside the tunnel that leads to another area, Najena.  You can safely rest inside this tunnel as most players respect it and do not pull creatures inside.  Once fully healed, step outside and look for a creature to fight with.  Pull it close but do not go back inside. That way you can fight away from lava pools and be right next to a zone in case things get a little out of hand.

That does not mean you cannot hunt anywhere else in Lavastorm.  You can, but since Fire Elementals will attack you on sight, the healing/meding process might be a little difficult to accomplish.  Nevertheless, there will be situations when the entrance to Najena will be full of people and it will be hard to find something to kill.  One tip I can give you in this case is to go to the Gypsy camp and fight close to the Gypsies.  I did it quite often and it did not seem that Fire Elementals spawn close to them and I could med undisturbed.

The most common creatures here are Fire Elementals and Fire Drakes. Make sure you always consider the creature you are about to attack since they vary quite a lot in level.  At level 12 or so, you can hunt Fire Drakes, the easiest and by far the most common creature here in Lavastorm.  By level 16 you should be able to handle most creatures that spawn here, except a few high level Fire Elementals and Lava Crawlers.  My favorite target though were the Lava Basilisks and I kept attacking them even after they started to con green.  They give the best loot as you can commonly get 1 or 2 Basilik eggs that are worth about 6g.

Overall, Lavastorm is one of my favorite places for characters levels 14 through 18 (even though you can come here earlier than 14 but will have to abandon battle often).  You can gain some fast experience here since you will be able to handle most if not all creatures solo.  Also a pretty good place for those trying to improve their jewelry skill as you can get quite a few different gems from these lava critters.

Things you should know: First, lava pools will kill you instantly and you won't be able to recover your corpse.  Second, Fire Elementals will attack you on sight so be careful if you see one close by.  Third, a Gipsy camp is located here in Lavastorm and is a popular destinations for those looking for combine weapons and a place you can do some quick selling (afterall those ore bricks are just too heavy to carry around).  And finally, the largest lava pool in lavastorm, located just behind one of the Goblin camps is very interesting as it is where the entrance to 2 zones are located.  You will see around the lava pool 3 openings in the mountain.  The first and the farthest away from the Goblin camp is will simply teleport you back to the middle of lavastorm.  The other 2 will take you to Solusek and Nagafen's Lair.  Do not attempt to visit these zones before reaching a fairly high level as they are quite deadly.  I remember zoning into Nagafen's Lair once just to satisfy my curiosity and having to zone out with only a few HPs left before I even saw what was hitting me.  Those damn Kobolds... I will get revenge someday...
