The Power Room

Does this startle you?

How can anyone get so close and yet in the end hear the Lord say, "I never knew you; depart from me?" (Matthew 7:23....And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: deprat from from me, ye that work iniquity.)

However, this will be the terrible result of many in our churches today who are professing Christians, often with responsible positions, but who have had only a head acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ. Tragically enough, even teachers, preachers and religious workers are not exempt from the possibility of this chiling indictment.

The distance between the head and the heart is about 18 inches. Unforunately, a head- intellectual- knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, fully knowing and giving mental assent to the plan of salvation, without also a heart acceptance that brings the personal relationship that the Bible demands, avails nothing to any man.

A heart acceptance or a head acceptance. Which do you have? Paul says in First Corinthians 15:31 he "dies daily". Do we die out daily? Do we have that true salvation experienced? Or are we playing church?

Search your heart and be sure that you are covered by the blood of the Lamb, and have the heart acceptance you need to get to Heavn.

Jesus Christ said, "I am the way, the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) The Bible tells us that "He that hath the Son hath (eternal) life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (First John 5:12)

Furthermore, the Bible promises "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is madfe unto salvation."

Christ wants your heart, not just your head because "The Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart." (First Samuel 16:7)

It is vitally important that you make sure it is not just head knowledge and mental assent you have given to Jesus Christ. He needs the complete surrender of your heart and life so that you may be truly born again.

Eighteen inches can mean an eternity with Christ or an eternity without Christ. Are you sure of your personal relationship to Him? Why not settle the question in your heart once and for all right now? Lily of the Valley will take you to another place to help and guide you to the Lord. †

The Secret of the Bended Knee

Have you ever watched a bird sleeping om its perch and never fall off? How does it do this?

The secret is the tendons of the bird's legs. They are so constructed that when the leg is bent at the knee, the claws contract and grip like a stell trap. The claws refuse to let go until the knees are unbent again. The bended knee gives the bird the ability to hold on to his perch so tightly.

Isn't this also the secret of the holding power of the Christain? Daniel found this to be true. Surrounded by a pagan environment, tempted to compromise with evil, urged to weaken his grip on God, he refused to let go. He held firm when others faltered because he was a man of prayer. He knew the power of the bended knee.

From sleeping birds we can learn the secret of holding things which are most precious to us- honestly, purity, thoughtfulness, honor, character. That secret is the bended knee in prayer, seeking to get a firmer grip on those values which make life worth living. When we hold firmly to God in prayer, we can rest assured he will hold tightly to us. --Rollin S. Burhans

"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil." Ephesians 6:11

"Having your loins girt (prepared) about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the Gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked." Ephesians 6:14-16

Sometimes it is hard to stand up and fight against all that is throwed at God's children. But we have authority over satan, and we need to put him under our feet where he belongs. God didn't promise us a bed of roses, instead he warned us of just the opposite in Proverbs 13:15, "Good understanding giveth favour: but the WAY OF THE TRANSGRESSOR IS HARD." It is the devil's business to see we are miserable, and he does his job well. However, we have been made more than conquerors. (Romans 8:37)

We can be assured that having the whole armour of God around and about us, we can eliminate (where's your faith?) all that the enemy can dish out at us. But again, we look to His Word for encouragement...Isaiah 54:17a, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper."

How many times have we looked at a problem, gave it to the Lord, but yanked it back?

LET GO AND LET GOD

As children bring their broken toys,
with tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God,
because He is my friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
in the peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help,
with ways that were my own.
At last, I snatched them back again
and cried, "How can you be so slow?"
"My child" He said, "What could I do?
You never did let go."

Whew! It really hits hard, doesn't it? So, when we take our broken dreams, all our problems to Jesus, let him really have it. TOTALLY!!!!!! He can handle all that is given to Him. "With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26

WHEN GOD CALLS YOU!
When God calls you, do you unintentially shrink, for fear of what he may ask of you? Or do you stand up bodly and say, "Here am I" or "Here I am." this is what Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and others replied, and it is also a proper response if an angel should happen to call you. (Genesis 22:1, 31:11; Exodus 3:4; Isaiah 6:8)
Learn to recognise God's voice so that you don't make a fool of yourself as Samuel did.When Samuel was young, being educated by the high priest Eli, God called him for the first time in the middle of the night. Samuel thought it was Eli calling and ran to wake the poor old man, yelling, "Here am I." Eli said he hadn't called and told Samuel to go back to sleep. This happened three times, until Eli figured out what was going on. In this case, to put an end to the confusion, Eli advised Samuel to reply by calling out, "Speak, my Lord; for thy servant heareth" (1 Samuel 3:1-9)
It's okay to ask God questions, Numbers 16:22, God also doesn't seem to mind argument, because both Abraham and Jonah, argued without being castigated. Genesis 18:23-32; Jonah 4
Don't think you can flatter God by using a lot of fancy phrases and compliments. People whom God liked to talk to a lot, sich as Abraham and Moses, always spoke simply and directly. Phrases like "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory" are for seraphim to cry out. Isaiah 6:3

REGENERATION
Webster defines "regeneration" as: Spiritually reborn, to reform completely, to restore to its original state.
Regeneration comes through:
1. Birth of a new Spirit;
Ezekial 36:26; A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
If our heart is made of stone, then it can't be worked with, as such as a sculpture already hardened, it is not pliable. But with a pliable heart, God can mold it make it what He wishes it to be.

2. Divine Origin;

John 1:13; "Which were born, not of the blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
We are wonderfully created, not by man, but by God's own hands.

3. Essential To a Spiritual Vision;

John 3:3; Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
The Word of God says without a vision my people will perish. As his children we have a heavenly vision...to see the kingdom of God.
