Trunks Special - The History of Trunks

The Trunks Special tells the story of what happens to everyone in the alternate timeline that is talked about during the Cell Saga. It focuses mostly on, you guessed it, Trunks but also Gohan, who is an adult at the time. The world is full of chaos and death. The androids, 17 and 18, run the earth because no one is strong enough to oppose. The worlds only hope is one super saiyan with the heart to win, Gohan.

Gohan is the only remaining of the Z fighters in the beginning, well Trunks too but he is not a fighter really because he is only 12 or so. Trunks talks to Gohan and finds out about how Gohan is single handily fighting the androids. Trunks gets some of that saiyan pride in him and decides that he wants to help. Gohan agrees to train Trunks, but they must do it behind the back of Trunks' mom Bulma. Gohan is impressed with how accomplished Trunks is when they begin to train.

After a while of training Gohan and Trunks hear a report of the androids attacking a near by city. Gohan knows he must go. Trunks insists on aiding Gohan but Gohan fears that he is not ready yet, so he tells him to stay. Gohan fights the androids but is being over powered because they are fighting together and he can not handle it. Trunks witnesses this senseless beating off Gohan and in a rage jumps in to help. He fights 18 but she just toys with him and he is quickly in trouble. Gohan sees this and knows that he must save Trunks he grabs him and goes on the run to hide (the androids cannot sense a persons ki so that's why hiding can be effective). The androids are angered that he has run and decide to try and blast him out.

After and endless barrage of fire they let up and leave. Gohan has shielded Trunks this entire time and is pretty beat up, in fact he loses his arm from it. He grabs his bag of sensu beans from under his belt and opens it with his mouth but it reveals that there is only one sensu bean. In an act of courage much like his father he gives his last sensu bean to Trunks who is also pretty beat up. Trunks recovers and sees that Gohan has had the shit beaten out of him. He grabs Gohan and takes him home, Bulma is in shock and through a while of recovery Gohan is better again, but has one arm.

Gohan and Trunks begin there training again, and Trunks is set on becoming a Super Saiyan just like his master and friend Gohan. Gohan and Trunks continue to train until another report of android activity comes about. Trunks insists on going again since Gohan is so disadvantaged with the one arm. Gohan says OK, then knocks him out easily Gohan goes and fights and proves to be no match for the androids. He ends up dying at the end of a pretty good fight.

Trunks awakes and comes to try and help Gohan. He then finds him dead lying on the ground in a pool of water. In a awesome display of anger Trunks unleashes this and becomes a Super Saiyan for the first time. Many years pass and Trunks comes to the age of where he is when he travels to the other timeline and kills Frieza. Bulma is bent on saving the world through this time machine that she has built but Trunks is determined to kill the androids. Trunks hears a report about a nearby city being attacked and decides that he must go. His mother begs him not to because there is another way through the time machine. Trunks vows though that he must go and avenge Gohan's death. Trunks is certain with himself that he is strong enough to defeat the androids he is a Super Saiyan.

They begin to fight and Trunks holds his ground for a while but then the tides begin to tip. He becomes scared and is on the run. The androids follow him and hunt him down through a maze of buildings. Trunks eventually is able to retreat and goes home to his mother.

Next all that really happens is stuff that u can see through clips of the Cell Saga. It shows Trunks using the time machine to travel in time then come back he defeats the androids and the world is a safe place for the few survivors that remain.

Bardock Special - Bardock, The Father of Goku

The Bardock Special tells of the events that took place right before Dragonball started. It's mostly about Goku's father, Bardock, and why Frieza decided to destroy planet Vegeta and the Saiyans. The story starts out with Bardock's son, Kakarot, being examined by some doctors in a medical wing on planet Vegeta. Planthor, one of the doctors, is talking about how he can tell that the child will one day become a great fighter. The other doctor says he's nuts because the child's father is only a low level soldier and he doesn't have any chance of beginning anything special. Planthor disagrees though and insists that he will one day become incredibly strong.

Planet Kanassa - Bardock and his crew of four, Torah, Fasha, Borgos and Shugesh, are about to start their attack on the Kanass to clear out the planet for their employer Frieza. They all turn into Oozaru's, and after a short, easy fight, they massacre all of them but one. The next morning, they are eating and talking about the fight, when the sole survivor of the Kanass appears. He strikes Bardock in the back of the neck and he falls down. Torah attacks him, but using a psychic technique, the Kanass turns the ki attack into energy he can use. He explains to Bardock that Frieza was after the psychic powers that are on this planet, and says than when he striked him, he gave Bardock the power to see the future. Bardock says this is bullshit, but the Kanass tells him it's true, and he will have to witness his planet's and race's destruction, much like the Kanass saw theirs. Bardock doesn't believe him, and easily kills him with a ki blast, and then faints. Bardock's crew takes him back for recovery at planet Vegeta.

The next scene takes place back on planet Vegeta. Prince Vegeta is training in a closed room, fighting several saibamen. He easily destroys them. The training room operators are talking about how they've never seen anything like it before. They wonder how strong he will become, and Nappa, actually with hair, tells them that nobody knows, not even Frieza. But he suggests they stay on his good side. They agree. The training is over and the Saiyan Prince comes out and he Nappa go down a corridor. Prince Vegeta tells Nappa how bored he is with training, and wants another combat mission. He says he can't wait until the day that the Saiyans don't have to take orders from Frieza anymore, and also that this day will come soon.

Zarbon, Dodaria, and Frieza are discussing business on Frieza's ship. Zarbon explains how Bardock and his group of low class warriors easily took out Kanassa, a job which they thought they would have to do themselves because no one else wanted to. He says how strong the Saiyans are getting, and that a group of good fighters such as Bardock and Prince Vegeta would be hard to deal with on a night with a full moon. Dodaria calls him a coward, but Frieza also agrees with Zarbon and says something might have to be done soon. Prince Vegeta enters the room and tells them that he is bored and wants a combat mission. Frieza tells Zarbon to give him the hardest mission they have, and tells Vegeta to come back alive.

Bardock is in a recovery chamber on planet Vegeta, having visions about his son and the future of the planet. He's worried that what the Kanass told him is true, and that his visions are actually of the future and the planet may be destroyed. His crew members come to check up on him. They've recently got a new assignment on the planet Meat. Since he's not ready yet, they decide to leave with out him because it's such an easy task.

Bardock wakes up and leaves the recovery chamber and find out that they've left to Meat without him, so he goes there himself. When he arrives, he sees that they've already killed the inhabitants of the planet, but he can't find them. He finally comes across them, but they are all dead except for Torah. Torah explains what happened, Dodoria's men killed them because Frieza was scared because they were getting so strong. Torah dies and Bardock vows that he will stop Frieza. Dodoria's goons show up to kill Bardock, and after killing two, Bardock gets beat up for a little while, but then easily defeats the other two. Dodoria comes and knocks Bardock down with a ki blast from his mouth.

Once he gets up from the blow, Bardock makes his way to his spacepod and goes back to planet Vegeta to try and warn the others. Nobody believes him however and they just laugh at him because they think he's gone crazy from getting beat up and losing his crew. He tells them they're all going to die, and says he'll stop Frieza by himself if he has to. At this point, he's pretty beat up from Dodoria, and can barely make it outside. While walking up, he has another vision. In this one Goku tells him it's not to late to be good, and that he can change. He regains his composure, and starts flying up towards Frieza's ship which has now made it's way to planet Vegeta to destroy it.

Frieza sees him coming and dispatches fighters to take care of Bardock, but he's able to plow through them and reach the ship. Everyone is surprised when Frieza himself emerges from the ship. Bardock gives a classic hero speach about how he's going to avenge all the people that Frieza's killed, and charges a ki blast. Frieza is preparing his Death Ball attack, one powerful enough that it will destroy the whole planet. Bardock fires his attack, but it's just destroyed by Frieza's Death Ball, as he flings it toward the planet. Bardock has one last vision before he's evaporated by the Death Ball. He sees that his son, Kakarot, will be the one to free the universe from Frieza. He then dies peacefully knowing the universe will be safe soon. The planet blows up from Frieza's attack, and showing his inner homosexuality, Frieza giggles like a school girl at the show of fireworks.

We then see Prince Vegeta, alone on some planet where his assignment was. He's already killed everyone there, and he's eating when he's contacted on his scouter by one of Frieza's men. They tell him that Planet Vegeta was destroyed by a large asteriod, and that he was the only known survivor (along with Nappa). Vegeta calmly accepts the news and doesn't have anything to reply.

The baby Kakarot has landed on Earth. Grandpa Gohan finds him in the woods where is space pod has landed, and picks him up. He looks up into the sky, and decided that until he can find out where he belongs, he'll name him Goku. He walks off carrying him back to his house.

Well, that's it. This is pretty much the point where Dragonball starts, in a couple years anyway. This was a really good special, and I'd suggest you watch it if you can, it's really interesting and explains what happened before Dragonball started.
