Look up at that moon,
like a blood
red eyeball glistening
in the sky, staring
down apon us.
And recall that man's
name, his legend.
Trigun is an anime series that consists of 26 episodes. The anime takes place on a desert word. This anime is almost like an old western but with a Japanese twist. The main character is Vash, a gun-slinging hero of sorts, and you follow him through his journeys. “A gunslinger so dangerous, a $$60,000,000,000 reward has been placed on his head! Vash also known as the Humanoid Typhoon, has been credited with the destruction of several towns, but miraculously, there is no record of him ever taking a life. However, only two things ever happen to those who catch up to Vash - they either crawl away wounded (mostly from self-inflicted damage), or they stagger away in disbelief that such a dork could be the man they are looking for!” (as is written on the back of the First volume of Trigun The $$60,000,000,000 Man [VHS] , I think is sums up the plot very well~!) The anime plot goes much deeper, and I’m not a good enough writer to explain it. Let’s just say our main man, Vash, is confronted by his past and must make some hard decisions that change his life and the lives of the people around him. This anime is amazing the characters are well developed an the story is very profound. It’s much more than meets the eye!^_^ **MAJOR SPOILERS for the entire series go no further!!** The story of Trigun Trouble is always following Vash, no matter what he does or where he goes it’s always right behind him! Because of all the trouble that follows him the bernadelli insurance society has sent Milly and Meryl to minimize the damage and deal with all the legal stuff. Of course this means watching Vash twenty-four seven. None of the three are too thrilled at the prospect of always being together. Eventually the become good friends. About 2 volumes into the anime another character is introduced, Nicholas D. Wolfwood. A gun touting priest with a past just as dark as Vash’s. These two become quick friends. When all four are together Milly is usually seen the Wolfwood, which leaves Meryl with Vash. (she pretends to always be annoyed with him but I think she likes the upside down haired outlaw more then she lets on , but that’s just me.....) These four friends are always attacked by bounty hunters and the Gung-ho guns. The Gung-ho guns are a gang led by Legato, knives right hand man. Knives is Vash’s twin brother, who is bent on causing Vash as much pain as possible and destroying the entire human race. Why would he want to hurt his bro.? Because Vash hates to kill in fact he tries never to do it, and he doesn’t think that the humans should be killed. He and his brother are not human. They are the physical form of Plants (the huge light bulb looking power plants that are in every city) Because of this he and his brother have immense power, and they don’t really age. (they look good for 131 don’t you think?) At one time Knives almost destroyed the humans, but a woman named Rem gave her life to save them. Rem took care of the boys when they were little, she was like their mother. She taught them not to kill, knives didn’t listen, he thought she was a fool. Vash loved her very much and still thinks of her often even 130 years later. Rem was a part of the Project SEEDS crew that was in charge of finding a new world for the human race, where they could start over. (Humans used all the natural resources on Earth causing it to be unable to sustain life. Project SEEDS carried all the people of earth, in cold sleep, to find a new planet to live on.) Knives almost cased the ships to crash, but like I said Rem saved them. Near the end of the anime Vash faces Legato and to save his friends he kills him. Vash never having taken a life with his own hands almost has a break down, but Milly and Meryl help him to pull through. He goes off the ’save’ his brother by telling him the wrongs of his ways and hoping that he will see how wrong he is. They fight, Vash walks away with an unconscious Knives over one shoulder proclaiming that he will remember Rem but from now on, look to himself for courage and wisdom. Truth of the Mistake
