This game is absolutely incredible. Believe what everyone has said about it. Half-life is easily the best FPS ever created, and could possibly be the best game ever. This game has absolutely no flaws. Buy this game now if you haven't already.

The main game is so incredible in this game. The levels are incredibly scary and the scripted events in it serve to give Half-life a bone chilling atmosphere. This game is one of the scariest games that I've played, and it still shocks me even after multiple times through it. The environment is not all thats great about Half-life, however. The enemies you will fight are incredibly intelligent and will work together to bring you down, especially the marines. The boss battles, unlike nearly ever other FPS, require solving some sort of a puzzle to kill them. One example is your character, Gorden Freeman, having to turn on the power to a test weapon that will fry one enemy that can't be killed otherwise. Thats not all however. Half-life's levels have the best design of any FPS ever. The game is one continous levels with various sections. Ammo in them must be found, which is only logical. Also, you will never get lost in the levels since they are also logically designed. The single player is worth the price of this game alone.
Half-life's multiplayer is absolutely incredible. From the amazing Team Fortess Classic to Counterstrike, its no wonder that Half-life is the most played FPS online. The multiplayer runs well on a 56k modem making it accesible to the masses. The gameplay takes a lot of skill to play and requires teamwork as well. Half-life's multiplayer is another great reason to buy this game.
So there you have it. Half-life is one hell of a game. It's a masterpiece! It's the best FPS ever! No one can contest these statements. The game Half-life is so good that I would go as far as to say it might be the best game in creation.

When Half-life was released, its graphics were top of the line. The effects were quite good and the graphics served to enhance the atmosphere of HL. However, the graphics now are very dated in comparison to new releases.

Gameplay

This is where HL is at its best. It easily has the best gameplay of any FPS, even three years after its release. The enviroments are very well done and are very good at frightening you. The areas are designed logically and so you always know where you are going. The enemy AI is one of the best that I've seen in a game. The soldiers are a prime example, in that they work as a team to bring you down. The combat is flawless in this game. Also, the boss battles in the game are quite cool, in that you have to figure out a puzzle that leads to their demise. Its all very cool. The gameplay of HL is on a level of its own in its genre.

This game easily has the best story of any FPS in its genre. The story is well written and is enhanced by all the scripted events that happen. It serves to give HL a lot of its atmosphere. HL's story is a prime example of what story-telling should be in a FPS.

Replay

HL has a really high replay value. First of all, the main game is so good that it is fun to play through it multiple times. However, its the multiplayer modes that give this game its replay. From the amazing TFC to Counterstrike, HL is the most popular FPS on the net and after playing these games I can see why. Both of them require teamwork and a lot of skill to win in, which is pretty cool. Also, the classes in TFC serve to diversify the killing in multiplayer. HL has a very high replay value.

Half-life is one hell of a game. From the amazing single player mode to the excellent multiplayer, HL is the best in its genre. There are absolutely no flaws with this game. Half-life, in my opinion and in the opinions of many others, is the best game in creation and is a game that is worthy of purchasing for everyone who likes games.
