Chapter 4

Training and Mysterious Youth:

Week 2

Shin seemed nicer than I thought. Sunday and Monday of week two's training went o.k. Shin taught me how to raise and lower my power level, how to feel for energy levels, how to meditate, and he even taught me how to teleport and read minds. Monday I fought with Kibito, Krillin, and Piccolo. I even gained enough courage to fight Vegeta. I literally won the battle... by a fluke. We were fighting near a swamp area. Vegeta shot an energy blast at me. It was way too powerful for me to reflect and if I touched the blast it would blow up. I'm so dead, I thought while running and dodging the massive ball of energy. Then I had an idea. I turned around and towards Vegeta.

"Donicka! Give up! If that ki wave touches you you're dead!" Kokiri called.

I smirked. " If I go my opponent's coming with me."

Everyone on the sideline yelled for me to quit, but I kept running. I saw Vegeta in the distance smiling evilly. I was sick so of that. Before I was able to form a ki wave I slipped and fell right into the swamp. I couldn't swim well but then again I didn't have to. I heard and explosion and people calling out my name. Oh no! I can't hold my breath any longer.

I stuck hand my out of the swamp hoping someone would find me. I then felt someone grab my hand and pull me out. For few a seconds I sat there catching my breath. As looked up to thank Z warrior that pulled me out I stopped. The person I was looking wasn’t a Z fighter. He had hair sort of like Vegeta’s but with a little more in the front. His face was child-like and he had ruby red eyes and a bandana carefully placed around his forehead. I’m sure he was just about two inches taller then I and I was 5’3".

"Thank you." I said.

Wow! This guy is so cute, I thought.

"Hn"

He turned around began to walk away. I ran in front of him.

"We’ll see each other again, right?"

He stared at me for a while and finally nodded. I smiled and felt guilty. I hadn’t even told him my name yet.

"Excuse me for my manners, but my name’s Donicka."

"Hn. Hiei." And with that he was gone.

I sighed. Hiei? Why does that name sound so familiar? Just then from out of nowhere Shin came running. He quickly embraced me into a hug.

"Are you all right?" He asked, his eyes full of worry.

Those eyes. Two deep pools of ebony that anyone could drown in. It amazed me that they could hide so much. I must’ve not realize that staring at him.

"What? What are you staring at? Is something wrong?" He looked himself over trying to find an error.

" I…uh…. There’s nothing wrong. I was just looking at your eyes."

"What about them?"

"Their beautiful."

Shin blushed. Am I the stupidest girl alive? Why the hell can’t keep my mouth shut about things like that? Well, I did tell the truth, didn’t I? The others finally came along and asked a ton of questions about where I went. Goku was carrying an unconscious Vegeta. I asked him would Vegeta be all right and he nodded.

"Hey how you did dodge that attack?" Goten asked.

I smiled at him and he blushed. I told them a lie so could avoid having to mention Hiei. For some odd reason I felt that seeing Hiei again would lead to trouble.

Chapter 5

Trouble

Week 2

The next day was Tuesday. Kokiri and sat in my room chatting about our first nine days of training. I had finished telling her about my training with Shin and Goku.

"So enough about my week with Shin. How did your week with monstrously hot go?"

She blushed. "Pretty much the same as yours but a little less agressive."

I laughed. She has a way with words. She even decided for us to learn japanese until I told her that no one here really speaks japanese. Then we were both hit with the same question. How can someone be born in Japan and not speak japanese?

"You know Kokiri, Shin or the others never told us why we were training."

"I think he said that it was just in case the enemy defeated the others they would have us as backup."

Reasonable enough, but why just the two of us?

"Donicka? Please don't tell anyone, but I think I'm falling for Gohan."

With that I immediately snapped back into reality and I'm sure I felt my jaw dropped. Give her fews days alone with a guy she just met and BOOM she's in love.

"Well I can't help it. It's not that I'm in love with him because of his looks its just that he's a really nice guy. He's not quick-tempered and he's surely not stupid and arrogant."

True, I thought. "So what's keeping you from telling him how you feel about-Videl."

She nodded. "They were already a couple and it doesn't seem right just jumping in the middle of their relationship."

"So what? If love this guy you wouldn't let anyone get into your way. Kokiri, when or if you ever get Gohan alone in a room tell him how you feel."

After that Kokiri seemed to brighten. Just then I heard a rock hit my window. Kokiri and I went to check it out. There on the ground was Hiei. He motoined for me to come down.

"Whose he?" Kokiri asked.

"A friend I met the other day. He's older than what he looks."

"How old is he?"

"14"

"Well if he asks you out on a date make sure you make it short. It ain't fair to Shin."

I nodded and opened window and hopped out. Wether or not I landed on my feet didn't matter because before I hit the ground Hiei caught me. He put me down and just like Kokiri said he asked me out on a date, just so we could get to know each other.

It was an hour ago when I found that Hiei was a charater from the show Yu Yu Hakusho. That surprised me big time. I didn't that two different cartoon shows could share the same world.

"Of course Hiei"

"Hn."

P>I noticed that he said that a lot lately.

He first took me to the theater where we watched Rush Hour 2. I surprised when Hiei paid for the tickets. I 'm sure Kurama gave him the money. Afterwards we went to the park and talked.

"So you already know a lot about me and my past."

I nodded. "There's a cartoon show called Yu Yu Hakusho where you, Kurama, Yusuke, and Kuwabara are main characters or heroes."

I looked at Hiei. How could something so young go through with so much. First he was thrown from cliff and left to die because of being the "Forbidden Child", then he was turned cold-hearted and ruthless by theives, and lastly he had a jagan(third eye) emplanted into his forehead just so he could find his lost sister, Yukina.

I looked at my watch. It was 10:58.

"Oh no! It's late! I forgot all about the time! I'd had better get going."

Hiei then stood up and escorted me home. As I took out my key I turned around to thank him for walking me home when he grabbed me and kissed me. He held me close to him. Suddenly picture of Shin flashed through my mind. I pushed Hiei away feeling guilty for the crime I had just committed. I quickly said goodbye and walked inside.

I bolted upstairs to my room where I found Shin sitting on my bed. He looked up at me and then at the clock sitting on the dresser.

"Don't you realize what time it is? You know that you have to get up early tomorrow morning so we can train."

I hung my head. "Gomen, Shin, I didn't realize the time."

"Well the next time you decide to go on a date with Hiei you had better make sur you keep an eye on the time."

I suddenly felt my face get hot with anger.

"If I do?" I said, my rising on each word.

Shin stared at me, shocked.

"Who do you think you are telling me what I should and shouldn't do?! You are not my mother nor my father!"

"I'm only doing what's best for your health and-"

Shin was able to get another word out. One minute I was boiling mad and the next was standing there completely shocked. Shin sat on my bed, his hand gripping the side of his face. I couldn't believe it! I had actually slapped the Supreme Kai! Tears welled up on his eyes as well as on mine.

"Shin I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hit you."

I sat down beside him.

"I was really angry that's all." I tried to reach up and examine the blow, but he pushed me away and ran out of the room.

"Shin, wait!" I screamed after him.

The tears grew imbearable as I threw myself on my bed and silently sobbed myself to sleep.

Chapter 6

Week 2: Kokiri Tries to Help

"YOU DID WHAT!!!!!!!" Kokiri screamed.

I winced at the new octave her voice had reached. I notice the females' voices (except mine) seemed to get higher and higher by the day. I had just finished telling her about the argument between Shin and I. Kokiri next sat to and gave me a hug for I had burst into tears on the word "slapped". I suddenly felt someone's energy level lowering but didn't really care.

"Gomen, Donicka. I'll try to help o.k.?I don't want the soon-to-be-lovers separated for life, so I'm going to go look for Shin and get things straightened out!"

She got up to leave the room when I grabbed her hand and shook my head.

"Not yet."

She sighed. The next thing she said took me by surprise.

"Describe how you feel about Shin?"

The room went silent for ten minutes. I felt eagerness in the room but it wasn't coming from Kokiri or me.

"Well.... Shin’s really nice. He doesn't rush me with my training and doesn't have a rotten ego. He's truly a god in all ways but Kokiri I really don't know how I feel about him. Sometimes I feel as if I love him and there's times when I feel if I don't know him."

Kokiri smiled.

"Donicka, I want you to say his name and tell me the feeling you received."

I nodded. Kokiri was a real friend indeed.

"Shin...."

Suddenly I felt a warm feeling of love in my heart.

"I.... I feel warm.... and happy as if my lover has been away for six and finally came back. I also feel a bit confused as if my feelings don't even know what's their purpose. What does that mean Kokiri?"

Kokiri giggled. "Someone's in love."

I became furious. "YOU TAKE THAT BACK NOW!"

Kokiri's giggle became a gale of laughter.

Angrily I stormed off. I decided to trained the rest of the week with Goku and then remembered how soft he would go on me. I changed my mind and instead went off on a search for Vegeta. I never knew Vegeta moved around so much. I went outside to the gravity chamber. I saw Vegeta training as I entered. He stopped and turned to look at me.

“What do you want?”

I stayed in my spot near the door.

“I was just wondering if you…. if you would train me next week?”

He grunted. “And my should I waste my time on you?”

I thought for a while. What could I give Vegeta in exchange of him training me?

I smiled.

“If you train me I’ll show you how to cure yourself.” Vegeta resumed his training.

I frowned and walked out. Mission 1 ended in failure. I rounded corner and stopped. There he was, Shin, sitting on a bench in the Capsule Corp. garden. He sat there with his face in his hands. Nani? Why he crying? What I did last night didn’t hurt him that bad, did it, I thought. I watched silently as Shin began to stand up. He walked over in front of the patches of roses and knelt down. He picked one up and inhaled its scent. He sneezed. I smiled, a single tear rolled down my cheek. It fell through the air. Before hitting the ground it turned into a bluish-white pearl. I stared in disbelief. Since when did my tears turn into pearls? Hiei’s tears were the only one’s that could do that. I picked up the tear and held it close to my heart. This tear gem was shed because of how I felt towards Shin. I took off the necklace that was wearing and used my Instant Transmission to appear right beside Shin. I sat the necklace down and used the technique a second time reappearing on the roof of Capsule Corp. Shin looked down and spotted the necklace.

“This is Donicka’s…”

He picked it up and examined it. I then used a spell that could make my voice part of wind and said “Shin that’s for you to keep and it is also my way of saying I’m sorry.”

A tear fell down the side of his cheek as he smiled. “Donicka….”

I turned away and flew to the other side. I just landed on the ground when I felt someone’s power level. It wasn’t familiar to me at all and as quick as it came it disappeared. Whoever that person is must be terribly strong, I thought. I took a step forward when I realized the person I sensed had been in the exact same place Shin was. Without a minute to spare I ran back over to the side where Shin was with lightning speed. When I arrived Shin was not there. In his place was a letter that read,
