W: How
did you become a CCS fan?
KW: Well, in 2000 - I had to work early on a Friday, and we had
Fraturday on KidsWB (which was the good shows), back then, I was into
Pokemon, so I was taping it. I came home later on and saw that they had
added a new show called "Cardcaptors," so I started to watch it.
I got hooked at that point and started taping the whole series. Then, I
won the original series on fansubbed CD's on eBay later on - and I loved
both of them - great storyline, wonderful art, good cast of characters,
what more is there to say? CCS is the greatest anime to come out of Japan.
W: Which
character can you relate to most?
KW: Hmmm...I do kinda look like Li - but I don't have the attitude
he has, but I have the personality of Sakura (cheerful, helpful, etc...) -
so it's a mix of both Li & Sakura.
[W: Wow, You must be really good looking if
you look like Li! =)]
W: There are a
lot of CCS fans visiting your site. What do you think is your 'edge' from
other CCS sites? When did you start doing it?
KW: My 'edge' is a few things. I'm one of the few who has a ton of
images - especially from the Cardcaptors series that I captured myself
(the other person is the one you're interviewing besides me), lots of
sections to choose from - a huge fanbase (such as affiliates), I update
constantly (even when there's nothing going on). It's a lot of things,
really. I started my website on July 23, 2001.
W: Most CCS web
masters/mistresses cannot update their site regularly because of their
busy schedule. How do you find time doing yours?
KW: See, that's what I hate about most of these sites, they always
come up with some excuse such as school, work, or "there's nothing to
update". There always is! You just have to look harder! That's what I
do all the time. Even if it takes 5 minutes to update my front page, I do
it. Lately, because of the Christmas season - I've been too busy to
update, but I usually do a couple of days worth of updates when I have
time (now that's over - yay!), I usually save most of my e-mails so I can
remember if there's things such as news, affy updates, etc. so when I can
update, I can find when I should add it. I usually work later on in the
evening, so I do stuff before I work or when I have my days off from work.
I can find time to take a few hours off to relax with friends or family or
by myself too (since I'm not in school right now).
W: What can you
advise for new CCS web masters/mistresses?
KW: Good luck! If you're starting a site, there's lots of info and
stuff to find for it on the 'net, but of course, give credit where credit
is due. That's the most important part about a fansite - just be yourself
as much as you can and give the people who help you out the thanks they
deserve. If you're in the middle of making your site and need help - don't
hesitate to ask me (via e-mail at: kmw@icehouse.net
or MSN Messenger at: kmw@icehouse.net
also), I'd be willing to help out!
W: What are your
future plans for your site? Any messages for CCS fans?
KW: Well, I plan to keep it up as long as I can - but I don't think
anything will be done to it in the future. Thanks for the support and keep
it going thru 2003!!
