“What’s your plan, Selenity?”

“I’ll be your hero. I’ll kill him!!!!”

Wilson woke up, sweating all over. He heard knocking. It was Selenity, knocking on his door.

“Wilson?? Are you in there? Are you okay?? Wilson?”

“Yes Selenity. I’m here. I’m okay.”

“Okay. It’s just that I heard you calling my name.”

“Come in Selenity.” Selenity entered the room.

“Are you sure you’re okay? You’re sweating like crazy! And you seem a little heated.”

“I’m okay. I probably just had a nightmare.”

“What about?”

“Oh, it was nothing. Don’t worry about it.”

“No. Maybe we shouldn’t go to the guards yet. You need to cool down. You don’t look so good either. Wait here. I’ll get you something to drink.” Selenity left to get some cold water. Wilson watched her leave the room.

“Oh Selenity. I hope that nightmare doesn’t come true. Maybe it’s telling me that she’ll find me out. Or maybe it’s telling me that I should be more careful when I go to see him,” Wilson said. He sighed deeply. “Oh Selenity. If only you were mine. I’d have the most perfect life, and the most perfect wife.” He let his head hang for a few seconds. Then he laid back down on the bed. Selenity had come back with a tall glass of cold water and a small bowl of lukewarm water with a washcloth in it. She set the bowl on the nightstand. She handed Wilson the tall glass. He sat up and took a sip from it. “Thank you, Selenity. Now I know why Endymion fell in love with you.” She just smiled. The thought that Endymion still hadn’t returned made her smile turn upside down.

“You should stay here for a while. I’ll just go by myself and...”

“No. You can’t go by yourself. You could be in danger.”

“It’s alright. I’ll be okay.”

“No, Selenity. I won’t let you.”

“Okay. If you say so. Now, you shouldn’t talk. Drink your water. Get some rest. Close your eyes for a while.” She took the washcloth that laid in the bowl, wrung out the excess water, and laid it gently on Wilson’s forehead.

“Thank you, Selenity,” Wilson whispered. Selenity just shushed him. He closed his eyes.

“I’ll be downstairs,” Selene whispered. “Get better.” She held his hand and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “I’ll be back to check up on you.” She left the room.

“Selenity. If only you were mine. I know that deep down inside, you really love me, not that chump fiancé of yours. I know you love me. You just kissed me. Soon, your sweet lips will be on mine. I just know it. You do love me,” Wilson sighed deeply. “If only you were mine.”

Selenity went to her room. She decided not to go downstairs. She sat on the bed. She started staring at a picture of Endymion that stood on the dresser. She picked it up and held it. She hugged it, as if she was hugging him. She shut her eyes tight, trying not to let a river of tears run.

“Endymion. Where are you? Where are you, Endymion?” A tear fell from her eye and landed on the picture. She whispered his name. “Endymion.” She started whispering to herself. “Endymion. Where are you? Endymion.” Suddenly, she opened her eyes and looked around the room. “Who’s there?” She thought she heard someone calling her name. She stopped. She shook her head. She looked at the picture she held in her hand. She looked around the room again. “Who’s there??? Answer me!! Who’s there?” She stopped. She looked around the room once more. She looked at the picture of Endymion again. She just stared and stared. Suddenly, she heard his voice. “Endymion?!?!?!?!?!?” Then, she heard a knock on the door. She put the picture back on the dresser. She approached the door slowly. Right when she was about to grab the doorknob, another knock on the door was heard.

“Selenity? Are you in there? It’s Wilson.” Selenity opened the door. He saw that there were tears in her eyes. “Oh Selenity. Were you crying? It’s about Endymion, isn’t it?” She just nodded, holding back her tears.

“I also thought I heard Endymion calling my name again.”

“Oh, that must have been me. I was calling your name from the bottom of the stairwell, and you know how it echoes. You must of heard me calling your name, and the echoes must have sounded like Endymion’s voice.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right.”

“Believe me. That’s all it was.” Selenity just nodded. “I’ll leave you alone. I’ll be in my room whenever you’re ready to go.” Selenity nodded again. Wilson closed the door behind him. Selenity locked her door. At that moment, she just felt like crying until there were no more tears left to cry. She took the picture of Endymion off the dresser and held it tightly, hugging it again. She cried. Again, a tear fell on the picture. She whispered Endymion’s name again. She started whispering to herself again.

“Endymion, where are you? Endymion.” She tried drying her tears, but it did no good. More tears just kept on coming. She continued on whispering his name. Then she whispered, “I love you, Endymion.” She lifted her head. She heard something. Suddenly, the words she thought she’d never hear again were spoken, loud and clear.

“I love you too, Selenity.”
