Summary:
When Urashima Keitarou's grandma decides to travel the world, she hands over the position of kanrin nin ("inn manager"/"landlord"/"landlady"-- it's not gender specific) at Hinata Sou ("Hinata Inn"), an all girls dorm, to Keitarou, who is trying his hardest to get into Toudai (Tokyo University) because of a promise he'd made with a girl when he was a kid visiting Hinata Sou. But, being ignorant of the girl's name and age, will Keitarou figure out who the "promised girl" is? Will Keitarou make it into Toudai? Will Keitarou make it into Toudai with his "promised girl?"
Review:
2/5 stars
I found this series really amusing, but I also found it incredibly frustrating at times-- (warning: spoiler ahead) especially when Naru refuses to admit what she really feels about Keitarou... repeatedly. While it's funny to watch the girls of the inn punch Keitarou over misunderstandings, I started feeling really bad for the poor guy-- it wasn't his fault every time. However, on the plus side for the series, the characters were fairly well developed and memorable (they didn't have I, My, Me! Strawberry Eggs syndrome). There weren't too many filler episodes (they were funny anyway) and the story was pretty cute (it's a romantic comedy-- how could it be anything, but cute!). However, this is one of those series that ends up leading to a lot of hentai and fan-service-type stuff on the internet. What do I mean? You'll just have to watch it and see...
