Zoids Zero Synopsis
Currently Toonami has added a new show to its 4:30pm time
slot called Zoids. This show was aired in Japan earlier this year and
is actually the third zoids series called Zoids zero. Zoids is based
off a popular 80's model kit set that I even had. So lets get to the
plot of the show.
Zoid battles are held on earth and are conducted using
animal type mecha known as Zoids. A zoid battle ends when all the zooids
on a team are eliminated by having their computer systems freeze. Our
story begins with a salvaged zoid parts dealer named Bit Cloud gets
caught up in a battle between the Blitz team and the Tigers team. This
is when Bit changes his truck into stealth mode but is soon discovered
by a member of the Tigers team. During the battle Leon of the Blitz
team's arm is broken and with Bit in the battle field the zoid battle
is declared invalid. The Blitz team then decides to lock up Bit in the
hover cargo until the rematch tomorrow.
Eventually Lena comes along and Bit asks how come on one ever pilots
the white Lyger Zoid a.k.a. Lyger Zero. Lena tells Bit that anyone who
steps into the Lyger Zero's cockpit is unable to pilot it cause the
Lyger Zero goes wild. Eventually, the Lyger Zero sets a tied up Bit,
free and the Zoid allows Bit into the cockpit. The Zoid acts independently
and takes Bit to the middle of nowhere. Meanwhile a rematch between
the Blitz team and Tigers team starts. The battle is a slaughter and
it appears that the Blitz team will lose. That is when Lyger Zero shows
up during the battle with Bit piloting it. Bit is able to pilot the
Lyger Zero and with its help defeats the Tigers team.
The Blitz team after the match asks Bit to stay and pilot the Lyger
Zero permanently Bit obviously does decide to stay. The rest of the
series chronicles the rise of the Blitz team and Lyger Zero to the top.
Along the way they make rivals with the Lighting, Fugal, and Back draft
teams. The Back draft Group is probably the greatest rivals to the Blitz
team cause they try to steal Lyger Zero various times and force the
Blitz team into unauthorized zoid battles in which the Back Draft Group
cheats and plays by their own rules. Zoids is a great show that any
true mech fan will love out of a possible number of 10. I rate Zoids
at a ten it's a great show that gives you a thrill.
