Tenchi In Tokyo Synopsis
Sorry I completely forgot to add this review at the time,
I should have though. This is another alternate universe not too much
different for the other show though just how they all meet like usual.
The gang is all back even Kiyone but a different voice actor then in
universe. The story is simple Tenchi's grandfather made a deal with
a Shinto priest in Tokyo. Tenchi will go to Tokyo to learn the ways
of a Shinto priest. So Tenchi goes to Tokyo without the girls and Ryoko's
approval. Meanwhile a demon by the name of Yugi comes to earth to mess
with Tenchi and the Earth.
She makes monsters out of objects to do her bidding most
of them are defeated by Ryoko or Aeka. In Tokyo Tenchi falls in love
with a girl name Sakuya. Who later in the show is revealed to be Yugi's
shadow. Also Yugi becomes Sasami's friend by showing her the little
good she has left in her. Ryoko also runs away to become a space pirate
again. And Mihoshi and Kiyone get a promotion and go back to the Galaxy
Police Headquaters.
At the end of the show Sakuya tells Tenchi she loves him but most go
and then vanishes. The gang all come back together and Tenchi faces
Yugi in an attempt to save Sasami. At the end of the battle Tenchi is
able to make Yugi gain back the human side of herself. After saving
the world again the gang go back home, Yugi after using most of her
powers must rest in a chamber washu made. Ryoko opens up more to tenchi
about her feelings until the rest of the girls barge in and so ends
the weirdest and boringest of the Tenchi Series.
This series is not as great as the other two series. Its plot is weird
and the animation style is pretty low budget. So out of a possible 10
I give Tenchi In Tokyo a 5 it could have been a lot better if they invested
a little more time into it, the series was rushed out way too much and
shows itself present in Tenchi in Tokyo.
