Gundam Wing takes place in a distant future where humans reside in space colonies that orbit the Earth. Years are based on a new measurement of time known as After Colony (AC). With human's colonization of space, a militaristic force known as the Earth Sphere Alliance has risen and taken hold of the planet and the space colonies. The Earth Sphere rules with absolute power and it shows its power with giant human-controlled war machines known as mobile suits. The Earth Sphere's views are a sharp contrast to the pacifism preached in the colonies not long ago. Many citizens in the space colonies disapprove of the Earth Sphere's ways and some even seek to have it overthrown. Even within the Earth Sphere there is dissent. In AC 195, space and Earth collide in a battle that will determine the fate of mankind. |
