Isthian groaned and opened his eyes. The noonday sun glared down at him, so brightly that the few clouds in the sky were almost blinding to look at. He rolled onto his side, holding up his right arm to shield his eyes, and instantly let out a yelp of pain. It felt like he was lying on a thousand small thorns! Looking down, he saw the ground was covered with tiny, sharp rocks.

He scrambled hastily to his feet, gathering a few more scratches on his arms and hands for the effort. Looking around, he confirmed his first suspicion -- he was standing on a mountain of some sort, not too steep... there was a forest directly below where he was, the sun looked to be at about eleven o'clock, but nothing much else to be seen. Rather normal looking, considering what had just ha...

"Wait a moment," he said out loud to himself. "Just back up a few steps there, Isthian! What IS this place?" He continued the rest of his review in his head. He had woken up, gone to school, gone to soccer practice, just like any other day... then... his watch! His watch had started beeping at him, and that weird device had appeared... oh yeah, that device! He looked around for it, hoping that it would provide some clues to what was going on here.

To his relief, he found it lying on the ground next to where he had been. He stooped down and picked it up (getting a few more careless scratches to his fingers in the process). It was a small and fairly simple looking thing, made of what seemed to be lime-green plastic, with the buttons a lemony-yellow. A small dot the same color as the device glowed near the bottom of the screen, and a myriad mix of other colors were scattered about. He pushed some of the buttons -- one made it show the time (11:24 AM), another showed a row of empty bars -- then set it back the way it had been with a sigh. He had never been very good at electronics... he clipped it to his belt, and took another look around.

There didn't seem to be any good shelter nearby, no trees or caves, but he almost thought he heard the sound of running water... yes, there it was again! He WAS kind of thirsty, come to think of it, so he decided to go see if he couldn't hunt it out. It wasn't like he had anything better to do, after all...

Kyrainia awoke to find that her hand was going numb. She sat up, and pulled her hand out of the freezing cold stream that it had been submerged in for who knows how long. She looked around at her surroundings while shaking her hand trying to get the feeling back into it. She was obviously at a reasonably high altitude, because there were scarcely any trees. Mostly rocks. Fortunately for her, she had landed on a patch of grass. She stood up and glanced at her watch, noticing that it had stopped.

" Great, just what I need. I'm so going to be dead!! I didn't get a chance to lock the back door!! They're going to find it, and figure out it's me...I just know it!" she exclaimed, sinking to her knees.

Suddenly, she remembered the device that she had gotten before being transported here. She immediately started looking for it, and found it in the stream. She pulled it out, and hoped that it was waterproof. It was obviously important. The amethyst device sparkled at her as she examined it. She pressed a few buttons and noticed that the device told the time, 11:26, had a screen with a bunch of bars, and had a screen where it had a bunch of flashing lights, all different in color. She noticed that the purple one seemed to be herself. But that didn't matter much to her. It was the screen with the bars that gave her the most confusion. She wasn't sure what it did. And that was something she'd find out.

All Fiona could remember was a bright white light, some weird electronic device, numbers and... a coconut?

She opened her eyes. Yes, she was under a tree... that would explain the coconuts. All of a sudden, they started to fall. She yelled and quickly got out from under the tree. "How did I get here? I don't remember any coconut trees back home..." she said to herself. Fiona dusted herself off and started to walk, desperately looking for a way home.

"Yeesh... where the heck am I?" She then remembered that device. Maybe *that*! would have some answers. She searched all around for it until she finally found it... latched onto her belt.

"...oh... some place to find it." she muttered, and unclipped it. The screen was blank. She started to press a few buttons. It didn't do anything. She reclipped it onto her belt and continued on.

20 minutes later, she came to a stream, and sat down to rest. She was definitely lost. Then, Fiona saw someone else... a brown haired boy sitting by the stream... she didn't recognize him... but, since he was the only other human around...

"Hey!! You!!!"

Kamika opens her eyes and sees a bunch of trees in front of her. "What have I gotten myself into now?" She thinks out loud. Her eyes travel to the sound of something beeping on her jeans. Kamika notices that clipped to her pants was the device that she saw before. She blinks as she notices a couple of dots on it but she didn't know what they stood for. Kamika shrugs and clips it back to her jeans. She sighs and dusts of her clothing. She gets up and starts to walk around. She looks around curiously and doesn't see any sign of human life or any life at all. Kamika stops when she hears someone yell out something.

Isthian jumped to his feet in shock at Fiona's yell. Caught unawares, he reacted instinctually...

"AAAAAAHH!!! DAEMON WOMAN!! I'M SORRY, I DIDN'T MEAN IT, IT WON'T HAPPEN EVER AGA..."

He had actually run a few yards away before he realized that he had never seen the girl before in his life, much less offended her. He trotted over to her, blushing brightly. 'Come on, Thi-boy, excuse, excuse...'

"Hi there! I was just... uh... practicing for my school play! Yeah, that's it!"

He was so preoccupied by covering up for himself that he didn't even notice that she had a device similar to his clipped on her belt. 'Good! Now, keep it moving...'

"I'm Hanasaki Isthian, but you can call me Thi! Of course, a cutie like you can call me ANYTHING you like... So, who're you? Besides a girl that's hotter than any sun I've ever seen!"

The pain on my back was horrible. " I just had to wear a belly shirt" I thought. Obviously I landed on glass or rocks. I didn't move because of the pain. I could here a girl and some boy's voice in the area. I turned to my side and groaned as my arms got scratched.

Christo woke up, her eyes still blurry. She wiped them and they cleared, and saw, to her amazement, that she was lying on a mountain somewhere. There was a forest just below her, and the rest of the mountain above. She sat up and looked around. The thing that had come out of her computer was lying next to her, but now it was colored black with silver starlike spots on it. The buttons were silver too. She pressed one of them, and it showed a map of the mountain. There was a flashing dot on the map, which, she supposed, was her. There were seven other flashing dots as well. She looked at her watch, but it wasn't fastened properly and it fell off her wrist and into a crack where she could not get it. "Damn!" she swore. There was a stream pictured on the map, and there were two flashing dots next to it, so she set off in that direction.

Soon she came to the stream. There were two people, a boy and a girl, next to it, and they were talking. "HELLO!!" Christo shouted.

I opened my eyes and groaned gain. Pushing my body up with my right hands proved to be a very bad move. I scraped my hand and winced in pain.

I held my hand with my other and realized I wasn't in the park anymore. I looked around and saw my Cd player detached from the head phones about a foot or two away. I walked over towards it "Aww.....man!" I moaned as I picked it up.

The CD player was scratched. "I just bought this thing......" I dug threw my bag and pulled out a wolfpaw sticker I got out of one of them machines. I covered up the scratch and smiled.

"Please work" I thought as the song began to play again.

I decided to see where I was. I looked around. Figured I landed on top of some kind of mountain top. Below me stood tall green trees; that filled a vast forest. I beeping noise drove me out of my confusion.

I thought the double beep was my Pager. But when I went to turn it off, It was just blinking low batt. at me. I was annoyed because I just bought that as well along with fresh batteries. I didn't think I would need that size so I didn't pack it.

I put the Black pager back on my belt when I noticed another devise clipped to it. I pulled it off and examined it. It was the same devise that brought me to this strange area. I wasn't sure If I was on Earth or where. The devise Was gray with red highlights and buttons. I pushed the smaller button and Dots appeared on it. There was a gray dot, A white one, a limeish green one, and some other color I was unable to name. The two I knew where extremely close by to me. I assumed I was the grey one since it was surrounded by arrows.

I turned of my Cd player and put it back in my bag. I stood very still. Not to far away I could hear two voices. I decided to check it out.

Chris sat up and shook his head, trying to ease the extreme headache he was experiencing from the fall. "Where am I?" he wondered, looking around. He seemed to be on a mountain of some sort. "What the heck? What happened? Just a few minutes ago, I was in my bedroom, trying to fix the computer... The computer! That strange device! Now I remember!" Chris tried to stand up and see what was around him. When he stood up, however, a small silver device fell to the ground and clanked quietly.

"Huh?" Chris looked down. "Hey! That's the thing that flew out of the computer!" He picked it up and looked at it. "Hmmm.... Looks kinda interesting." It was roughly cross-shaped, with a square screen and three buttons, one slightly larger one on the left of the screen, and two slightly smaller ones on the right. The ones on the right were above and below each other. It also had a belt clip. "Maybe I should see what I can figure out from it..." He sat down and put his back up against a rock, and began to concentrate. But he stopped almost immediately. Then he continued concentrating. Almost the first thing that he got was that it was called a digivice. "Hmm? Wonder what a digivice is...." Then he concentrated more and delved more deeply into the mysteries of the strange "digivice." He then found out from its programming that the digivice had three settings: First, the clock, which was selected by pressing the slightly larger button that was on the left of the screen. The clock showed the time, the date, and all that other stuff that's usual for a digital watch to have. Second, the locator screen, which was selected by pressing the topmost left button, which was basically a map of the area, and blinking colored dots represented other children who had apparently been transported here like he had. Third, there was something that looked like a meter that could be filled up bit by bit by little bars that the digivice called a "digivolution bar." Chris had no idea what that meant, so he left that for later. As he looked even deeper into the digivice's memory banks, he found three sentences that explained much, even as they sent chills up his spine. "There have been several children brought from the human world. These children, or Digidestined, were brought here for a reason. They were brought here to save this Digital World."

Slightly exhausted after his long immersion into technology, Chris clipped the digivice on his belt and got up. He decided to use the locator mode to see if he could find anyone. He turned on the locator mode mentally, and looked for a colored dot to head for. He found the closest one, a cyan dot, and started walking.

About half an hour later, he was deep in a forest. He knew there was a river some distance off, but he wanted to find the person that the cyan dot indicated. He got to the top of a short overlook (like a mini-cliff) where he could see for a little distance through the trees. He looked at his digivice again, and the cyan dot was right on top of his silver dot. He looked down, and he saw a girl.

But what a girl! Even from his top view, he could still see that she was one of the most beautiful girls he had ever seen. "This must be another of these Digidestined like me!" he muttered to himself. He unconsciously took a step forward to try and get closer.... and fell off the cliff. As he was falling, he shouted.

Kamika turned and hears the yell. "What's that?" she said. She ran towards where the person was falling.

Chris hit the ground with a bump. Since it was such a short drop, he just got a few bruises. "Owww...." he said as he tried to rise from his position on his back. As he sat up, he looked straight into the face of the beautiful girl that he had seen from above. God, she was even more beautiful up close! She opened her mouth to say something....

Kamika looked at the cute guy that had landed. She blushed at the thought and asked, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

"Um, uh.... I-im fine." Chris said. "W-would you mind helping me up?" He was so nervous, he was stuttering slightly. He had been struck HARD by Digi-Cupid's arrow.

Kamika smiled as she listened to his stuttering. "Sure." She held out her hand towards him.

Chris nervously grabbed her hand and, delighting in her soft touch, stood up. He stood there feeling silly for a moment, then let go of her hand. "So, uh... what's your name?"

Kamika blushed as he touched her. She smiled as he asked her for her name. "Oh, um...I'm Kamika Farinas. What's uh...yours?" she stumbled out. This guy was making her nervous.

"My name? It's.....Chris Podima. Nice to meet you." Was it his imagination, or did Kamika look as nervous as he felt? "So, um.... Oh! Do you have one of these?" Chris asked as he held up his digivice.

Kamika looked as she saw the item in Chris's hand. She blinked as she remembered that she had one clipped to her jeans. "Oh yeah! I have that." She unclipped it and showed it to him. "Are you talking about this?" She asked.

"Yeah! Good. You have one, too. Let me show you something." He leaned over and hit the top button on the left, bringing up the map and locations of the other Digidestined. He noticed that now the white and lime green dots were right next to each other, too. "This is a map of where other people like us are." He had decided not to use his power over technology yet in front of Kamika, because he was worried it would scare her and then he would lose her forever. "We should probably go see if we can find any others, I guess." he said, but not really meaning it TOO much. He wanted to stay alone with Kamika forever...

Kamika smiled as he showed her the operations of the digivice. She blushed as he got closer to her. She didn't want to go off and find the others, but she knew that she had to go find them. Although they just met, Kamika felt something weird that she had never felt before about Chris...but she put that to the back of her head. "Um...sure. I guess that's would be right." She says.

"All right, I guess. So, let's head...." Chris looked at the map and decided to head for the white and lime green dots. "That way!" he said, pointing to the east. "Is that okay with you, Kamika?" he asked a little nervously.

Kamika looked at her own map and noticed they were headed towards the other dots. "Um...sure. That's okay with me." She says nervously as she starts to walk off in that direction.

As they were walking, Chris got up his courage and decided to start talking to her. "So, where are you from?" he asked.

Kamika looked to her side and smiled," Oh. . I'm from New York City. What about you??"

"I'm from Carlsbad, all the way on the other side of the US. Hey, how old are you? I'm 14."

"Isn't that such a coincidence? I'm 14 too!" She giggled as she listened to herself. She seemed so giddy, something totally unlike her.

"That's great!" Chris said, a little too loudly. "Hmmm.... Hey, I have another question for you. How exactly did you get here? I was sucked in through my computer... Actually, first it shot this digivice towards me, and then it sucked me in. What about you?"

Kamika smiled. This guy seemed pretty cool and a lot like her. "Yeah!! Me, too!!!" She blinked again. Another act of giddiness.

"Really?" Interesting.... I wonder if everyone came through a computer or electronic device? Maybe... But I'll think about it later. Right now, I gotta focus on this beautiful girl walking right next to me! "Um.... Hey, I think we're almost there!" Chris said.

They passed through one last barrier of branches, with Chris starting to think about these strange feelings he was experiencing inside right then...

Kamika blushed as she realized that she has already spent most of the time in this world with the cutest guy she had ever seen. This is really weird. I never really liked any guy back in New York. Why him? He's so cute and interesting. I wish there were more guys like him where I live. She shook her head as she looked at Chris. He seemed to be thinking really deeply like she had been. I hope something good will benefit from this place. That was her last thought.

I don't quite understand... What am I feeling inside? After all my life of rejection, could.... could this be love? I don't know. It could be possible.... Only time will tell, I suppose. Chris blushed. But I guess being sucked into this place is the best thing that's ever happened to me!

Fiona paused for a second. 'Yeah... he's cute... but... I gotta play hard to get.' without giving it a second thought, Fiona whacked Isthian with her mallet.

"Hello, I'm Fiona Richards. And why are you here?"

Each of them with their own thoughts, Chris and Kamika pushed through the trees and came upon a river. But just then, they heard the sound of something hitting something else...

"Hey, what do you think that is, Kamika?" Chris said.

Kamika blinked as she saw the view of one girl hitting a guy. "I have. . . . no clue. . . ." she said slowly.

"Should we go see what's up? After all, they must be other kids from the real world like us!" Chris said.

Kamika smiles, "um. . . sure. . . I guess that's a good idea." she says.

"Okay!" Chris said, smiling as they started walking. After a few seconds, they were within earshot. "Hey!" Chris called out. "What are you two doing?"

"Oww," Isthian moaned, rubbing his head where Fiona had hit him. "What'd you do that for, huh? Anyway, I'm here because... well, actually, I really don't know!" he concluded cheerfully.

Before the conversation could go any farther, though, they were interrupted by a great shout of "hello" from a girl who seemed to be entirely black from hair to boots, with the exception of her bright red bandana. Seconds later, a boy called out from the other side. He, too, was wearing a red bandana, but he was walking with a girl with short brown hair, as well.

"Man! Not a single city in sight, but within less than half an hour, four people go and shout at me... freaky!" he muttered. He changed his voice to a farther-reaching call, "well, come on, then! The party's here, even if we haven't got any music! And I guess I'd be your host, Hanasaki Isthian, then! Of course, you girls," and here he indicated Christo and Kamika with a wink, "can feel free to call me Thi, or anything that comes easily to your fair tongues!"

Christo looked at Isthian. He seemed nice enough. "OK "Thi"," she said, "I'm Christo, now if you'll excuse me, I have to go get some fresh water." She turned around and walked down the mountain, till she came into the woods where the stream was now a river. She was just filling her thermos flask when she slipped on the muddy bank and fell in! The river was quite deep, and the current was strong. "Help! HELP!" she yelled. No one heard. The river carried her out of the woods, and down a stretch where there were trees on either side, but not above. Christo realized, with horror, that she was heading for a water fall!! "HELP?!? HELP?!?" Suddenly a creature appeared near the river bank. Christo noticed that there was a still picture of it on her device. Next to the picture there was a sort of stats page. It read:

NAME: LABRAMON
ATTACKS: RETRIEVE BARK; CURE LIQUOR
STAGE: ROOKIE
CHAMPION FORM: SHIISAMON
ULTIMATE FORM: SAKUYAMON

Labramon jumped into the river, and swam towards Christo. She (labramon) was a powerful swimmer and reached Christo in seconds. "Put your hands around my neck." Christo needed no prompting. She held on to Labramon and they swam to the bank.

"So, what are you, anyway?" asked Christo, squeezing water out of her hair.

Labramon replied brightly, "I'm a Digimon!"

"Di-gi-what?"

"Digimon. Short for Digital Monster."

"Shouldn't we be getting back to the others?"

"What others?"

"Isthian, a blonde girl, a brown haired girl and a kid in a red bandana."

"Humans."

"What did you say?!?****"

"Er -- nothing! Nothing!"

"It better be nothing!" Christo scooped up some water in her thermos flask and they went back to the others.

"Hey! Guys!" Christo ran up to the others in her group, Labramon running behind her.

I was about to say something when another dot appeared on my Digivice. Then I hit a small red button to silence it.

I looked at the group ahead and blinked. "Wow, we must be growing" I thought. Deciding to show myself I walked out over to the strangers. I wasn't sure why, but I knew I had to find out some things.

I walked over to someone and taped them to get their attention. "Umm.......Hi...."

"..." Fiona whacked Thian on the head again. "You really know how to annoy a person, don't you? "Anyways..." she turned to latest people to join their little group. "My name's Fiona Richards, you can call me Fi, or Fiona, if you'd like. And if I were you, I'd annoy Thi-boy here... but, um... yeah, who are you?"

" Bloody!!" Kyrainia shouted in frustration. The stupid bars didn't make much sense, and she finally just gave up. Throwing down the device in annoyance, the screen switched back to the screen with the colorful dots. They were closer to her amethyst dot then they were the last time she looked at it. As if on cue, she heard faint voices that seemed to be coming from farther down the river.

" Great" she muttered. " More people. Dang, I don't need this, not now. Now, do I go and find these people, or do I stay here on my own? Hmmm." After a few minutes of debating she decided that she just didn't want to interact with people at the moment. They were too brutal. People....well, let's just say that she wasn't terribly fond of the idea of having to spend time with a bunch of sure-to-be obnoxious teenagers...or at least she was assuming that they were teenagers. If they weren't, it would be even worse...then it would turn into a baby-sitting job for her. And that's one thing she was NEVER good at.

Kyrainia sat down next to the river, letting her thoughts about what was going to happen to her after she got caught with the whole breaking and entering thing at the school, fill her mind.

Kyrainia's wish to be alone didn't last long however, because all of a sudden she felt a tap on her shoulder and a voice "Umm.......hi....."

Kyrainia turned to look at the person. " Who are you?" she asked.
