Kamika watches as Thi walks out of the water. She didn't know what to do. Kamika sighed and she walked off. 'What to do? This world is sooo weird and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. Yet, Chris knows.' Kamika thinks to herself. She walked into the woods to gather her thoughts.
Chris watched with concern in his eyes as Kamika walked into the woods alone. Nobody else seemed to notice, Isthian and Fiona too preoccupied with beating up each other. He knew that Kamika might want to be alone, but he wasn't sure of what kind of dangers might be in this new "digital world." He followed her, not wanting anything to happen to her.
Kamika came to a stop and leaned against a large tree. 'What do I feel towards Chris anyway? I've never felt this way. NEVER! and now all these new things are coming out of nowhere.' Kamika sighs as she closes her eyes and continues to think.
Chris saw Kamika up ahead, leaning against a tree with her eyes closed. "Um, Kamika?" he said, "Are you all right?"
Kamika opened her eyes and immediately blushed. "Oh. . .um. . . Chris. What are you doing here? Did I stay away that long?" 'Oh great. Out of all people to be here, it had to be my crush? What am I going to say? Great, I'm even babbling in my thoughts.' Kamika blushed at her thoughts as she waited for Chris to answer her.
"Um, no, you didn't stay away very long.... I... um.... was just...." Chris trailed off slightly, whispering, "worried about you." Chris blushed slightly, too. "Is everything all right?"
Kamika took in his words. 'He's worried about me?? 'why would he be?' Kamika snapped out of her thoughts when she realized that she hadn't answered Chris's question. "Um. . . no. .. I mean. . . yes. . . I mean. . . what was your question again?" she stutters, blushing a deep red.
Chris saw her blush and wondered what it was all about. He hoped he hadn't embarrassed her. "I asked you if everything was all right.... Is something bothering you?"
Kamika shook her head slightly and sighed. She didn't want him to think anything was going on so she started to focus on her shoes. 'Why's he acting this way? He's bringing out a side of me that never entirely existed, or so I thought.' Kamika thinks.
Chris saw Kamika shake her head, then sigh and look down. He shook his own head slightly, knowing there was something bothering her, and she was afraid to tell it. He stepped closer to her, and slightly surprised at his own concern, looked her right in the eyes and said, "Kamika, I know something is bothering you, and I want to help! Please tell me.... I don't want to see you like this..." He blushed as he realized what he had just said.
Kamika blushed as he stepped closer. She could slightly feel him near her. She sighs and tries to answer, "I'm. .. . .well,. . . .I was thinking of something that I thought I heard today. . . but it's really nothing. Don't worry bout it." She says. "don't worry bout me. . . " she whispers softly hoping that he hadn't heard her yet at the same time hoping he did hear her. It was a mixed feeling for her.
Chris thought for a second about what he had just heard Kamika say, and then replied back, "Kamika, of course I'm going to worry about you!" He blushed, realizing how much he really cared about her. "Like I said, I hate to see you like this, compared to how happy you usually are! What is this thing that you thought you heard that is putting you off so much?" He had no suspicion of what Kamika was about to say next....
Kamika's eyes go wide. She had hoped that he wouldn't ask her about it. She sighs. 'I guess I should just ask him who this Kam-kun is. There's no point in putting it off except getting hurt. But your used to that aren't you Kamika?' she took in a deep breath and tried to speak but instead it came out in a whole bunch of gibberish. "I'. . . um. . .you. . . and. . .heard. . . . I. . ." Kamika realized that he wasn't getting what she was saying so she just asked her question. "Chris. . . Who's Kam-kun?" she quietly says and then she started to stare at her shoes once again as she awaited his answer.
Whatever Chris had been expecting Kamika to say, it certainly wasn't THAT. He sweatdropped as he tried to think about what to say. 'Chris, don't be an idiot. Tell her the truth. What's the worst that'll happen? Whatever it is, it'll have happened before....' "Um... uh....." He stuttered slightly. He was the most nervous that he had ever been. "Um.... Kamika, Kam-kun... is.....um.... you." He blushed and cringed slightly, awaiting the inevitable.
Kamika at first didn't believe what she heard. "me??" She sputtered out. "But?? you?? like?? me?????" all these words just spilled out of her mouth without her not knowing. She slightly blushed and looked at Chris.
Chris looked up, having been expecting a slightly different reaction involving a mallet.... "Um... Well, yes, the truth is, I do, Kam-kun." He turned the same exact color and shade as his bandanna.
A small smile made its way up to her lips. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. 'First Chris likes me back and he calls me Kam-kun!!!' She squealed inside her mind as she thought of a way to reply. "Well, guess what??" She giggled slightly as he looked at her. "I like you too." She says.
Chris just stared for a second, his brain trying to process a sentence he had never heard said to him before. 'She....likes me? She....actually likes me?' He grinned as he finally realized that after quite a LONG time of trying, a girl had finally accepted him and even liked him for who he was! "Wow.... This is really something for me, Kam-kun.... I've never been lucky at all in love... not even close. And to finally find a girl who really likes me, and a beautiful, smart, and funny girl none-the-less, it's ...just amazing! I love you, Kam-kun!"
Kamika blushed as she listened to all his compliments. She wasn't really used to hearing someone really like or even love her this much. She smiled and replied softly, "I love you too, Chris-kun. . .And I always will." She says as she starts to move closer to him.
Chris moved close enough to Kam-kun to enfold her in a hug. He relaxed and enjoyed his... first ever hug... with the girl of his dreams. He moved his head to kiss her, when.... "Hey! HI!" someone shouted from the woods nearby and ran past them towards the river.
"AARGH!" Chris shouted as he fell over, startled by the sudden shout right at that moment.... bloody bad timing!
Kamika giggled as she saw Chris fall over. She was a little peeved that someone had interrupted them but it was such a funny sight. "Chris. . .hahahaha. . . are you okay??" She asks him as she stands laughing.
"Oww.... Yeah, I'm okay." Chris said, standing up and brushing himself off while laughing. "Sure was bad timing, wasn't it?"
She giggled again. "Yeah. . . would you like to try again?" She asks shyly.
Chris grinned and nodded. "Sure." He moved again to kiss her, and their lips were about to touch, when.....
Kamika quickly turns as she hears her name being called out. Since it was so abrupt, Chris missed her and instead fell to the ground. "Opps. . .I'm so sorry Chris but I thought I heard someone call me." She says helping him up.
"Kamika!!! I found you!!" A voice calls out. Kamika releases her grip with Chris and he fell again. She turns to see a small little bear walking towards her.
"A bear??" She mumbles beneath her breath.
"It's actually you Kamika!!! I've waited for so long!!" It says happily. It walks over to Kamika and Kamika brings it up to her arms. "Hi little bear. What's your name?" She asks not even being freaked out by the fact that it could talk.
"My name's Puttimon." she says to Kamika. "What are you?" Kamika asks wondering.
"Silly!!! I'm a Digimon!!" Puttimon laughs. Kamika smiles at Puttimon and then remembers that Chris was still on the ground.
"Oops!! Are you okay??" She asks him.
Chris was still on the ground, with those anime-swirly eyes. He shook his head and got up, sweatdropping. "Yes.... I'm all right, but I think three times falling is enough!" He then looked at the bear in Kamika's arms. "So this is Puttimon? A Digimon? So that's what Digimon are...."
Just then, another voice shouted his name. "CHRIS!" Chris.... (you guessed it!) fell over again from the surprise.
"OW! WHY DOES THE WORLD HATE ME?" he shouted as he got up. When he finally got up and stopped grumbling, he saw another Digimon standing in front of him. It seemed to be about two-and-a-half feet tall, and mostly metal. It was shaped roughly like a bulb, with no discernible feet- they were hidden under a covering at the bottom (remember Motimon? the form that digivolves into Tentomon? all the way back in the first episode....) and two arms. The left one was a robotic arm with four claws on it, and looked extremely powerful. The right one was an organic arm, and had three small claws on it. Its face was partially covered by a metal-face-mask that looked like it was grafted to the skin You could see one of its eyes, its mouth, and its nose. It also had two wings, which were both partially metal and partially organic flesh. All over its body, parts of it were metal and cybernetic. Its face, from what you could see of it, looked very intelligent, and at the moment, quite happy.
"Chris!" it shouted again. "It's so great to see you! I'm Tekumon! I'm your Digimon!" Its voice, rather than sounding thin and computerized, was actually quite nice to hear- not too loud or high.
"Tekumon?" Chris asked.
Tekumon flapped its wings until it was hovering at Chris's face level and said "Yup!"
"Well, Tekumon, it's nice to meet you!" Chris replied.
Kamika looks at Chris's Digimon and looks back at hers. 'Hmm. . . . Puttimon's pretty cute but what's with all the hearts?' She thinks to herself. Puttimon was yellow from head to toe except for its ears which were shaped like a heart with white. On it's stomach was another heart covering its whole stomach. there were also hearts on its hands and feet or if you called that feet. Puttimon was pretty small like a stuffed bear. Kamika smiled at her Digimon and suggested something to Chris. "Hey, Chris. Maybe we should get back. I bet the others might have gotten Digimon too." She smiles and looks back at Puttimon who was still in her arms, waiting for Chris's response.
"Sounds like a good idea, Kam-kun. I wonder if Thi's Digimon is going to be as bad as he is?" Chris wondered.
Kamika blushed and giggled at the same time. "I hope not. I think one Thi is good enough. Besides, Fi would kill them both." She giggles again.
"My thoughts exactly. Should we get going?" Chris said, offering his hand to Kamika.
Kamika blushes and takes it. She keeps one arm and holds Puttimon with it. Puttimon noticing that Kamika was running out of ways to hold her, she climbs up on Kamika's shoulder and lies on her head. Kamika giggles and says, "That's a more comfortable spot I see, Puttimon." Puttimon smiles on her bear face and says, "Yup!!!" Puttimon rests on her head as Kamika and Chris start to walk towards where they left Thi and Fi.
Chris smiled as he saw how cute Kamika and Puttimon looked together. Then he looked the other way to see Tekumon flapping along beside him and smiling slightly. With his other hand, he looked at his digivice, looking at the map of where everyone was. He saw that while the grey and amethyst dots were STILL close together and a little ways away, the white, lime green, black, and orange dots were all gathered together, and his silver dot and Kamika's cyan dot were headed for them. "Kamika, I think that there's going to be a few more people with Thi and Fiona." Chris said.
"huh?" She looks at her own cyan colored digivice and remembers which button to press. She notices an additional dot from before. "hmm. . . I wonder who that could be." She thinks aloud.
"Good question. I think we're about to find out." Chris said as they came closer to the edge of the woods. They walked out to find Thi, Fiona, Christo, and a new girl all talking, and all with Digimon. "Hey!" Chris shouted. "We're back!"
Christo, who had been absentmindedly doodling smileymen in her diary, looked up at Chris's yell. "Oh, hi," she said. She looked at her digivice and noticed that the grey and amethyst dots were still a little way off. "I'm gonna go look for the other two dots," she said, "come on, labramon." The two left the clearing.
"Boy, the forest is creepy when it's getting dark." Christo said. Suddenly, she collided with no other then Taira and Kyrainia.
" Oh great...more people." said Kyrainia as she glanced at the new person. " Who are you?"
Taira blinked at the new person. "I'm Taira" she softly spoke. Taira moved her attention from the talking girls. "I'd love to stay and chat but I think there are other people around." Taira said before she wandered off near the blips.
Walking with out watching your step isn't such a good Idea Taira soon found out. She Walked directly into a tree. "Oofff..." She said. Rubbing her head, she attempted to adjust her goggles. She put her hand to her head to find them gone. Taira adjusted her back pack and freaked "MY NEW GOGGLES!" Taira yelped.
Kamika looked into the woods. she thought she had heard something. She walks into the woods, leaving everyone there, including Chris. Kamika walks into the woods. Puttimon looks at Kamika from her head, "Where are we going?" She asks.
"I thought I heard something. I'm gonna check it out." She walks into the woods to see another girl near a tree. "Hey!" Kamika yells out. She sees the girl look at her and Kamika introduces herself. "Hi! My name's Kamika Farinas and the Digimon on my head's Puttimon. What's your name?" Kamika asks.
'There are WAY too many people here...I'm gone' thought Kyrainia to herself as she started to run, hoping that she could get away from the people. No such luck. She ran smack dab into another group of people...a bigger group of people.
"Bloody hell! I don't need this..." she muttered to herself, as she felt all eyes upon her.
Chris watched Kamika release his hand and head off into the forest. He followed, with Tekumon flapping along next to him. He was about to call out to ask Kamika what she was doing, when he saw her up ahead talking to another girl.
Previously he might have found the new girl to look cute, but after the previous events, his mind.... was elsewhere. "Hey, Kam-kun!" he called out, "What's going on?"
Taira blinks still franticly looking for her goggles. Her mind was else where so she didn't pay much attention to the kids talking towards her. Her eyes sparkle she spots the pair of goggles. "Watch your step girl!" Taira yelped as Kamika almost stepped on her goggles. TG swiped the goggles and replaced them on her head. She looks at the girl and remembers what she asked "I'm Taira, my friends call me TG"
Kamika quickly turns as she hears her nickname. Only one person could have said that. "Chris!" She yells out. She watches as he walks towards her.
"Hey, Kam-kun! Why'd you walk off all of a sudden?" Chris asked. "Oh, and Taira, I'm Chris Podima. No rude remarks about my last name- Thi's said enough!"
Kamika smiles. She watches as Taira grabs a pair of goggles from beneath her. "Oh I'm sorry. I didn't know that was there." She hears Chris greet her. "Sorry, Chris. I heard something." She says. She turns her attention back to Taira.
Taira was glaring at Kamika when she heard a boy speak. Her natural instinct caused her to ignore the girl. "Nice to meet you, Chris was it?" She blinked and extended her hand "Wow..he is kinda cute......what! I just broke up with a guy I don't need to think like that" she thought shaking the thought.
Chris hesitantly shook her hand. "Hope she's not interested in me.... I'm already taken as of about 15 minutes ago..." he thought. "Yes, it's Chris. Nice to meet you." he said.
She smiled and shook his hand. She took her hand back as quick as she could as not to give the wrong signal. She turned her attention to the girl "I'm Sorry....Hi Kamako...Er Kamika. Nice to meet you too!" She held out her hand again.
"It's Kamika!" Kamika says happily. Although it wasn't what she felt, she wanted to make a nice impression with everyone here. She shook her hand quickly and turned back to Chris. "What are you doing here?" She asks him, although the answer was quite obvious.
"I was worried about you." Chris said, blushing slightly. "After all.... Well, you know." Then he looked over at Taira and saw that she had a strange expression on her face.
"My bad girly...I did correct myself..." She said becoming annoyed. "Do you have any clue what is going on...I was listening to my player..next thing I knew I was here....Am I interrupting you two?......What you all some couple..?"
Taira just noticed the creatures with them..."And what are those....." she said pointing to the Digimon.
Kamika blushed. "Um. . no I don't have any clue, but Chris here does." She turned to Chris waiting for him to reply.
"Um, uh..." Chris stumbled over his words slightly, not sure what to say. But then he saw an out from what Taira had said, and took it. "They're called Digimon, apparently short for Digital Monsters."
"Yep!" Tekumon chimed in.
"Shouldn't I have one if I'm here in this strange world?"
"Well, they've kind of been popping up everywhere... we just met ours. Maybe yours will show up soon." Chris said.
Kamika nods as she looks up and sees Puttimon looking at her. Kamika grins and turns her attention to the two. 'I wonder what our purpose is here and what this place is. I guess I'll have to wait. hm. . .I wonder where everyone else is..."
A small growling sound can be heard in the distance. Taira's digivice starts to glow lightly. Taira didn't notice "I hope.........wait.... do you hear that" Taira blinks and seems to be drawn near the noise. A small fox like creature looks to be pouncing on a smaller bug like Digimon. The growls were coming from her. Taira blinked and her digivice grew bright. Foxmon perked an ear and turned towards Taira.
"TG!" the thing spoke.
"AHHHHHHH!" Taira jumped behind Chris......"It..IT spoke...."
Foxmon's ears went limp...."Did your Digidestineds freak too?" she said to the Digimon.
Chris was just about to answer Kamika's question, when another Digimon appeared and said hello to Taira. Then it started talking to the other Digimon. Chris got a huge sweatdrop when he saw that Taira was hiding behind him. Kamika seemed pretty mad.
"No, not really." Tekumon answered. "Chris seemed pretty happy to see me."
Kamika's eyes went up with shock. She was experiencing none other than jealousy. 'Calms down Kamika. It's okay. She just got freaked out with the Digimon.' Kamika thinks.
"Kamika seemed okay. She heard me yelling, I guess. She didn't seem so shocked." Puttimon says happily.
Taira blinked as she was hiding. Not touching Chris at all she started to back up and into the same tree.."Oooff..." Foxmon growled "Why did I get the annoying one..."
Taira became defensive "I'm not annoying you mutt dog thing!"
Chris sweatdropped as he heard Taira yell at her Digimon. With a slight bit of relief that Taira had gotten out from behind him, he moved slightly closer to Kamika. "I wonder why she's fighting with Foxmon so much?" he whispered to Kamika.
Kamika smiled as Chris talked to her. She replied whispering too. "No clue although I have to agree with Foxmon." Kamika replies.
Foxmon grew angry "I'm Foxmon!" Taira blinked and calmed down. She glared at her Digimon. "You could have said that first....I'm sorry about the dog comment."
Chris raised an eyebrow until it touched his bandana. "Is she jealous of Taira or something?" he wondered. "At least they stopped." Chris said.
Kamika watched the two stop fighting. "Yeah I guess so." Puttimon climbed down from her head and rested again in Kamika's arms. Kamika didn't' even notice her actions and kept paying attention to Taira and Foxmon.
Foxmon perked up again and stood near Taira. Taira blinked still annoyed about being called TG by a stranger. The red head glared at the whispering pair. Her eyes grew soft and she faced the other direction. She stopped talking and felt offended. "Maybe we should find the others" she said softly.
Kamika's face fell. She knew that she had probably done something wrong. 'Maybe she feels left out.' Kamika thinks as she watches Taira. 'Maybe I shouldn't have been so jealous about what happened.' Kamika nodded slightly and looked at Chris for his reply.
"Probably a good idea." Chris said. "It's getting dark, anyway."
"There's some others back at the campsite, too." he added.
Kamika nods, not wanting to speak. She didn't know what would come out of her mouth. 'Probably a sorry.' Kamika thinks. She starts to walk towards the site.
Chris followed her, looking with slight concern at Taira. "Hey, Taira, are you coming?"
Taira nods and brushed the slightly gold hair out of her eyes. She followed the girl and looked towards Chris. She smiled and continued on her way avoiding any trees. Foxmon trots happily behind her.
Chris looked at his now-girlfriend walking next to him. "Are you okay?" he whispered.
Kamika blushes. 'Is he really good at that or is it just me?' She sighs, "Yeah. I am now." She grins slightly and continues walking.
"Good." Chris says, smiling and continuing to walk.
Taira slowed and walked behind the pair. It being now dark she smiled to herself "What a sweet pair" Taira blinked back tears as she remembered the boy who gave her the goggles she cherished so.
As they came out of the woods, Chris saw that Tina, Thi, Fiona and the rest were still there, while apparently Christo was with the amethyst dot. "Hey, guys? What's going on? We found another kid... Isthian, if you're interested, it's a girl..."
Foxmon could smell the smoke of the fire from the camp site. Taira was just looking straight ahead in deep thought. Taira blinked and smiles softly. "Hi..."
"Hey..... where'd they go?" Christo said. She ran back to the clearing, hoping to catch them.
She soon reached the clearing. Kyrainia was there, but Taira wasn't, and neither were Chris and Kamika! "DAMN!" she yelled. She walked over to Sora, who she thought of as a good friend. "Where'd Chris and Kam go?" she asked.
Fiona looked at the newest addition of their group, who had just run into them, apparently. She extended her hand in greeting.
"Hi! I'm Fiona Richards. Who are you?"
"Nice to meet you!" Fiona smiled at Kyrainia. She continued her introductions. "The guy over there in the black headband... his name's Isthian Hanasaki. Stay away from him... just trust me. The dude with the bandana is Chris Podima, and the girl next to him is Kamika Farinas. And the one with the goggles is Taira." she paused for a second.
"...so I guess you're in the same mess as the rest of us, huh?"
Isthian brushed Fiona aside. "This girl doesn't have a clue what she's talking about! I do very much hope that you don't ignore me... in fact, I would like it very much if we could be seeing a whole lot of each other." Here Isthian took Kyrainia's hand. "I just love your gloves, they're so soft and feminine... and your eyes are like beautiful shining amethysts... I would be very happy if I could spend my every waking moment by your side!"
"Oh, there they are." said Christo. She turned to Sora. "Fancy some tea?"
Kyrainia shook his hand off of hers. "Damn now I'm gonna need to wash this glove...oh and don't you think that I'm just a bit old for you?" Kyrainia said while glaring at Isthian.
Chris said, "Hi, nice to meet you. I guess Fiona already told you who I was...."
He walked over to the fire and sat on a log near it, with Tekumon flapping along to sit in front of him. "You guys should sit down near the fire... It's getting kinda cold. Plus, I have some information that I think might explain a few questions you guys have about why we're here." Having said his bit, he waited for the others, hoping they'd listen to him, and hoping even more that Kam-kun would come sit next to him... He wasn't sure just what was up with her and Taira.
"Aww..." Isthian fell over sideways at his rejection by Kyrainia, huge anime tears streaming down his face. After a few moments, though, his sense of pride leapt in, and he was on his feet again.
"Well, come on, let's not just stand around talking! Let's all get warmed up!" Isthian held his hands out over the fire. "Aah, that's bett... aahh! Hothothothothothothothot!!!"
Tsafmon just sweatdropped as he watched his partner dance around blowing on his burned hands.
Kamika sweatdropped as she watched Isthian. She shook her head slightly and walked over to where Chris was. She sat down on the log next to him. 'I wonder if he's gonna tell us why we're here now?' Kamika thinks. She looks down at Puttimon in her arms. Puttimon looked up at the same time. 'I guess it must have something to do about Puttimon. . . .' She thinks. She turns her attention back to Chris and waits for him to start talking.
Taira blinked and sat next to Chris. She didn't know the others very well and sat on the empty side of the log near him. Foxmon took her lay on the ground near Taira. "So you figured this all out?" she asked hopefully.
Kyrainia just rolled her eyes and sat down on the log that was the farthest away from the rest of the group.
Fiona looked around at all the other people. 'Yikes...' she thought. 'We're a dysfunctional group.' She shook her head sadly and sat on a log next to Isthian.
Christo grabbed a small fruit from a nearby tree and sat down on a log by the fire next to Kyrainia. She left a space for Sora next to her. Sora was like a big sister to Christo, someone she could talk to without being scared of being laughed at. For the first time since she was five, small, pearly tears formed in the corners of Christo's eyes, but she wiped them away, pretending she was tired. She took the fruit she had. It was a red fruit, about the size of her fist, but sort of diamond shaped. She tied part of a vine to the stalk of the fruit, tied the other end of the vine to the handle of her thermos flask, and flipped the vine over so that the fruit went into the water in her flask, like a tea bag. Then she found a large slab of slate, and put it over the fire so that the flames licked up around it, then she put her flask, fruit and all, on the slate, and sat back on her log.
I grabbed a red fruit, and went and sat down next to Christo. I thought of her as a little sister, a little sister I never had. I am an only child. I guessed Christo was too. It felt so refreshing, to talk to someone about family problems, without being told 'Who cares? What about that new shade of Caboodles lipgloss?', and it was good that I could help. I presumed that Christo was in the same pov I was, and that she had family problems, etc. I decided we should get to know each other...... So I sat down next to her on the log, and told her all about myself. "Hey, Christo, I thought it might be a bit better to get to know each other.... since we do seem the closest in the group. My name is Sora Ishida, and I was born in Australia on the 6th November 1986. I'm an Aussie, but my parents are From Germany and Japan. I live in Australia, and I guess you could say I'm a pretty good student, to tell you the truth, I'm the best student in my grade/school. I have a boyfriend, Matt, who's the sweetest guy EVER! Yeah, well, that's it about me.... you??"
Kamika watches as everyone sat down around the fire. Mostly everyone had divided and sat down at different sides. She holds Puttimon closely to her as she looks at Chris. 'I hope he'll start soon.' She thinks.
