While walking or shaking your D-3, it may beep, alerting you to an event. The event will be either an enemy Digimon challenging you to a battle, or a Digiegg. What to do about battles are explained in the basics, enemies, and bosses sections. If the screen displays an egg with a ? on it, you'll have a chance to get a Digiegg or a partner Digimon! Most of the time it will be a Digiegg, but if you don't have all the partner Digimon yet, you may get a new Digimon from the egg!

When you come across an egg, the screen will say "PUSH". Press the B button repeatadly. The screen will change to say "POWER". Keep pressing the B button so that four fireballs appear at the bottom of the screen. After five seconds, your Digimon will attack the egg with the power you just gained. If you succeeded in getting four fireballs, then the egg will break and you'll get either a Digiegg or a Digimon! The number of time you have to press B varies. It is usually about 20-30 presses, though. If it's alot, it can be hard to get all the fireballs. The way I usually do it is to put the D-3 on something like a table, and tap the B button as fast as I can with one finger. It seems that after you beat the game, it will always take only about 20 presses to break the eggs.
