 Inu Yasha | The heroic half-Yuokai the series is named after. Inu Yasha was in love with Kikyo and was going to use the Jewel of Four Souls to turn completely human, but the evil Naraku turned them on each other. The fight ended with him pinned to a tree for 50 years and her dying. Now he is working with Kagome to collect the shards of the Shikon Jewel. |
 Kagome | The "reincarnation" of Kikyo. She is from modern Japan. On her first trip to Fuedal Japan, Kagome had the Shikon Jewel (Jewel of Four Souls) in her body. It was torn out by a demon. Later on, she shattered the jewel by shooting it with a bow and arrow. She must journey to collect the shards with Inu Yasha to ensure that the powers won't fall into the wrong hands. |
 Kikyo | The original priestess that guarded the Jewel of Four Souls. She fell in love with Inu Yasha, but Naraku tricked them both into hating eachother. She was brought back to life, but can do nothing but hate Inu Yasha. |
 Shippou | Shippou is an adorable little kitsune who's father was killed by demons looking for Shikon Shards. He has special transforming powers. His signature shape is this really big pink balloon thing. When he first met Kagome and Inu Yasha, he tried, i repeat: tried, to kill Inu Yasha. Of course, he couldn't, so he stole the shards instead. This was to avenge his father's death. Afterwards, he "adopted" Kagome and Inu Yasha as his parents and decided to join their quest. |
 Sango | Sango is a demon hunter. She uses this giant boomerang to slice through demons. She used to be apart of a tribe of demon hunters, but Naraku came up with a plan to lure her, her father, and her brother (the stongest fighters) away, then sent minion demons to slaughter the rest of the town. Sango's father and brother were killed and Naraku managed to convince her that Inu Yasha had destroyed the town. He gave her a Shikon Shard and sent her against him. However, she discovered the trick, but doesn't know what Naraku looks like. |
 Miroku | Miroku is a sick priest who asks almost every girl he meets to bear his child. Miroku's grandfather had a curse laid on him by Naraku. This curse is the Air Rip on Miroku's hand. The Air Rip sucks up almost everything in range.In order to break the spell and save his life, Miroku must kill Naraku before he get's sucked up by the Air Rip. |
 Myoga | Inu Yasha's adviser. Myoga is a flea demon who runs away at the merest scent of danger. |
 Kaede | Kaede is Kikyo's little sister. She has taken over her role as priestess, but doesn't have powers as stong as Kikyo or Kagome. Kaede used to be an important character, but Myoga has taken her place as Inu Yasha's advisor. |
 SesshoMaru | Inu Yasha's full-blooded Yuokai half-brother. They share a demon dog father, the Great Demon of the West, but have different mothers. Sessho is definately a "BAD GUY." He is constantly tring to kill his younger brother in order to gain the Tetsusaiga (Steel Cleaving Fang), but is constantly failing. |
 Naraku | The Baboon skin wearing villan who originally broke up Inu Yasha and Kikyo. He was born inside an evil man who wished for Kikyo's heart to be tainted. Naraku also put the Air Rip curse on Miroku's grandfather. Naraku can shift-shape, that's how he originally tricked Inu Yasha, Kikyo, and Sango. |
