Chapter 4: Crests

Ryo punched his fist into the air. "Let's go save our parents! What are we waiting for!!!"
"Oh nothing, just our Crests, Digivices, a good idea where Myotismon's castle is might be nice..." Kitana said ticking off on her fingers.
Ryo glared at her, she smiled sweetly back. "Cheeky!" He muttered.
Genni walked into the room "Speaking of Crests here are yours!" He handed the tags and Crests out. Each one had a symbol on it, and was a different color, but they did not glow at all.
"When will they glow?" Motoki asked
"When you know what they mean." Genni smiled mysteriously.
"You wouldn't mind telling us, would you Genni?" Hibiki said.
"No that is for your hearts to find out." He replied coolly.
Alita coughed into her hand, it sounded remarkably like "Cliché, Cliché"
Genni simply glared at her as the new Digidestined giggled, "You set out tomorrow." He said dismissing them to bed.

The next day they left Genni's house. Alita had headed back to the real world saying she would keep in touch. Eiji asked her how she would do that if time flowed differently between the worlds. She simply replied that the time thing had never been a problem for her. The Knights were all potential Digidestined, kids who had had some type of connection to the Digiworld. They had just never been call upon to fight directly. The time paradox had never applied to them, for that reason. Knights viewed the Digiworld as though it ran in sync with theirs, when viewed through a computer. Alita did mutter something about annoying time zone problems, but that wasn't important. "Never fix what isn't broken." She had said sternly. All the teens agreed with that. She had also told them to call her by her Knight name, Battle Angel. "I've called a meeting of all the Knights, they'll be tapping in to help, but none of the Knights know each other, it's too dangerous," She shook her finger at then once again. "Never trust something that can think on it's own, unless you can see where it keeps its brain!"
Kitana laughed. "Harry Potter? You read Harry Potter!?"
"Hey, when I was your age, it was just coming out and all the rage in the literary world, and on the net for that matter." she shrugged. "Either way, it's good advice, I'm full of useful quotes like that." Eiji took out his laptop and called up the map that Genni had given them. "Okay, first thing we need to head over to Piximon's for some crash-course training."
Ryo nodded, "Yep, I'd hate to get to Myotismon and then lose just for being weak."
"How long till we get there?" Hime asked from where she stood next to Kakeru.
"Three weeks, plenty of time for us to get attacked by a few flunkeys." Eiji said
"Three weeks,' Mai muttered, "That's nearly a month."
"Yep, so let's get going, maybe we can make good time." Reika said.
"Yeah, the longer we stand here, the longer it will take." Hibiki began walking to the left.
"Uh, Hibiki, you're going the wrong way." Eiji commented after a few seconds.
"Oh."

Alita fell out of her computer and landed on the floor in a heap. She had placed a nice big soft mat there before leaving for the Digiworld. She glanced at the clock quickly, it read 2:30 am. Alita yawned and headed to the room she shared with her cousin. Alita opened the door to her room and, as quietly as possible, got into bed. Within a few minutes she fell asleep.

Alita woke up to the distinct smell of pancakes and sausage. For a few seconds Alita could almost fool herself into believing she was 15 again, and that it was her grandma making breakfast for her, but Alita knew it wasn't true. She was thirty something, single, and destined to help to save the world. For the first time since she had heard what had happened to her best friends, Alita finally did what she had wanted to do since she had heard. She cried, she would have earlier, but the kids had been there and she wanted them to think she was strong. As a Knight, Alita had known something had happened to the Digidestined, she was able to hack into their Digivice signals and get all kinds of readings from them. One of the things she had been able to see was the balance of Light and Dark inside all the Digidestined. So when Alita had hacked in last night, she had seen that the Light in the Digidestined was almost completely gone, confused, and panicked, she had called Genni, and then gone to the Digiworld.
"Alita? What's wrong?" Esperanza entered the bedroom worried. "It's Izzy and them isn't it?"
Alita nodded and wiped tears from her eyes, now that she was done crying it was time to get to work.
"Yeah, they've been taken prisoner by an evil digimon and turned evil. New Digidestined have been called to help fight, but well, I don't know if we can fix this."
"Well, you'll have help to find a was to fix it, when are you going to call a meeting?"
"The Knights are going to meet at The Round Table at 12:00 today, until then, I'm going to do what I can on my own."
"Alita, prima," Esperanza said, using the Spanish word for cousin. "It's 11:40 AM already."
"WHAT!!!!" She shrieked looking at the clock. "No way!"
"Must you always shout?" Esper asked solemnly.
"Sorry, but I didn't know I slept that late." Her older cousin laughed while Alita rushed to get dressed.

Alita sat down at her computer on logged onto the net. She signed into the site called The Round Table. Then she had to enter in the decrypting programs, enter in numerous passwords, and get through a few other security measures before actually getting to the main site. A few more passwords and decryption and she was on the chat room where the meeting would actually be. Despite getting up late she was the first one there. After a few minutes people signed on one by one. (AN: Okay, the Knights will converse two ways, one is Chat room style, it will look like a script, and the other will be audio through the NDD's new Digivices. Before a chat room sequence I'll put a < and at the end a > just to clear that up.)

Alita gave a silent cheer,'Luck for me!' She thought. Last time
the time zone had been in such a way that day for the Digidestined meant
night for her. It was a royal pain in the ass, she was up at 2:00 am for
the fight with Piedmon, resulting in her slow reaction time and lousy
addition to the battle. Here were the lives of the last two active
Digidestined in her hands and all she could come up with was a rope
in a basket that went up into the clouds. The basic idea had been that
Hope and Light climb the rope, then when they got into the cloud cover,
(courtesy of Mercury) the basket would disappear, and the rope would
become invisible, effectively hiding Hope and Light from Peidmon. It
didn't exactly work that way though, much to Alita's disappointment.
But anyway, with the new time zone no more ropes in baskets! Then Alita
remebered something, when she had left, the time zone hadn't been in the
same as hers, so while she was sleeping, it had changed for some reason.
'I guess someone must really want me to be able to help.' She thought.

Alita hacked into the Digiworld, right off the bat she realized two things,
one that the other Knights had hacked in as well, and two; the NDD's were
in the middle of a battle.
AN: Okay, that's it for now, The next part is coming up soon, three more
parts to go!! It's going to get kinda slow between parts because I've got
school, newspaper, and Drama club! Homecoming is this week!! Aloha Mustangs

MoonHime: I'm ready! What do we need to do?
Watson360: Is there any thing you need translated?
Lance56: We should get the story before we do anything.
Battle Angel: Lance is right! But we should wait for Mercury.
Crash Override: Yeah isn't she always the first one here?
MoonHime: Yes… but I really don't think we can afford to wait do you Battle Angel?
Battle Angel: No I don't. Here's the long and short of it. The Last set of
Digidestined has been captured and is now working for the Darkness.
MoonHime: Shit
Acid Burn: succinctly put.
Moon Hime: Thank you.
Battle Angel: Guys focus. Anyway, new Digidestined have been called up to fight,
while they fight, we need to find a way to get the old Digidestined back to
normal. We also need to make sure that the New Digidestined get to the final
battle, so we're going to have to keep in constant contact.
Crash Override: Got it. Hey, if you don't mind me asking, what's the time in
the Digiworld now?
MoonHime: I think about…12:15 pm right now>
Watson360: New Digidestined NDD, it works I suppose, could be a little better
but can't have everything.
Battle Angel: Kay guys ready? Let's go!>
