Chapter 3: Allies

Genni put a hand on his forehead and groaned. Everyone had arrived, and when Genni informed them of the general plan of action, that the Digidestined's children would become new Digidestined, a fight had broken out. Agumon, Gabumon, Biyomon, Palmon, and the rest firmly stood by what they thought was right. They wanted to stand by the promise they made to their partners. That the children would not fight.
"Even if it means Kari, and TK, and everyone else will die?!" Shouted Wizardmon.
"We're not happy about it," Angemon said looking down at the floor. "But we cannot allow for this."
"After Raina died Matt made me promise that I would never let Kitana get involved. They won't fight, however, just because the kids can't fight doesn't mean we won't." Gabumon insisted
"But you can't digivolve without your partners!!!" Elecmon shouted.
"He's got a point there." Genni jumped in.
"Then there is nothing we can do! We made a promise, that on our honor we wouldn't let this happen!" Agumon shouted.
"There are times when you have to break a promise for the common good!" Ogremon said suddenly. Everyone looked at him in surprise; he hadn't said anything the whole time. Some people even wondered if he should even be here. "You have to follow what you think is right."
"This from a virus Digimon?" Meramon muttered.
"Angewoman, don't you have anything to say." Wizardmon asked.
"I don't know, we did say we would keep the kids away from all this fighting, however, I don't think any of us thought something like this could happen."
"Thank you!!!" Leomon, Wizardmon, and Elecmon said together.
"Yet, I know Kari and TK." She hung her head.
"They would rather die than put their children at risk."
"And you're just going to let that happen!!!" Wizardmon demanded.
"It's what they would have wanted."
"But it's not what you want!"
Everyone began shouting at one another, and all arguments were unintelligible. Genni slowly became aware that someone was watching him. He looked up and saw who it was. He gulped. The digimon heard this and followed his gaze. The children were all standing in a line in front of the door. They all had various emotions on their faces, ranging from anger, to shock, to near tears. Ryo and Kakeru were standing next to each other, identical looks of fury on their faces. Kitana had a dazed look on her face like she couldn't believe what she was hearing. Mai had her hand covering her mouth, tears ready to fall from her eyes. Motoki was frowning. Reika had her face buried in her older sister's shirt. Maria, who was perched on Hime's shoulder, screeched at the Guardian Digimon. Ryo spoke first. "I don't believe that there could even possibly be any question in anyone's minds about whether or not we are going to save our parents." Ryo seemed to be shaking with suppressed rage, but he kept his voice calm and quiet. "After all you have been through together, you leave them when they need you the most!" Mai shouted.
"You are their partners! How could you?!" Kakeru demanded.
"If we don't fight, then Myotismon will take over the Digiworld, then ours, and he'll come after us anyway. A least this way we have a chance at winning." Hibiki stated.
"The decision about weather or not we will fight is ours and ours alone. And I am making it perfectly clear that none of you are going to stop me from saving my Father, and all the rest." Kitana said with calm certainty.
"Incoming video message" The computer chimed out. Genni, a look of surprise on his face pushed the button to allow the transmission through. A woman with curly black hair, dark brown eyes, and silver wire half-rim glasses, was looking at them a, don't mess with me look on her face. She wasted no time in speaking. "Genni what's going on! The Balance is totally out of whack, in the Darkness' favor! Did something happen to Izzy, and them?"
"You could say that." Genni said evasively.
"Cut the crap, what happened." Genni explained briefly, leaving out the part about the former Digidestined being evil, then put his hands over his ears. Digimon and human alike looked at him confused that is until the girl spoke again. "WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL ME SOONER!!!!!!!!!!!!" She screamed, everyone cringed. "Okay, I'll be there in a few minutes, I guess its time to bring up arms." Ten minutes later the girl walked into the room. "Hi" she greeted.
"Everyone, this is Alita, elite hacker. She is one of few DigiKnights. As such she can hack into the Digiworld's makeup, and alter it. She is very useful in uploading equipment, giving advice, and setting up portals. She also finds and translates prophecies, and other things that I might not even know about." Genni said formally introducing her.
"Stop it! I'm blushing." Alita said a lopsided smile on her face.
"She is the only Knight who has been to the Digiworld, or met the Digidestined, she has discovered the most information, and has proved herself an invaluable ally."
"Ah, gee, enough of this..." Now she really did look embarrassed.
"You know our parents?" Hibiki asked.
Alita blushed furiously. "Well, umm, I met them once or twice, I'm an old girlfriend of Izzy's"
"Old... girl... friend??" Eiji asked, an odd look on his face.
"Let me guess, you're Izzy's kid aren't you?"
Eiji nodded so did Hibiki. Alita chuckled. "Don't worry about it, nothing happened that would make you thoroughly disgusted... Almost." Hibiki and Eiji's eyes bugged out and Alita laughed. "You guys can think of me as a big cousin or such, I'll help you with anything you need." She held out her hand for them to shake, when Eiji and Hibiki backed away she rolled her eyes. "Look guys, I'm not going to bite, that almost was a joke."
"Oh, alright." Eiji muttered, taking her hand.
"Good, now do you guys have your Crests yet?"
Genni spoke up. "There seems to be some disagreement about whether or not the kids are going."
"Oh really?" She said. "Do they want to go?"
"Yes" all the kids said together.
"Well then I don't see a problem, they are not children, and they are perfectly capable of making up their own minds." Alita turned to look at the Teenagers. "You do realize and understand the worst that can happen?" They nodded. "Myotismon is very powerful, you will have to work as a team, and lay aside all differences. Are you willing to take up this challenge."
"Yes we are." They all said together.
"Well then, you are now the new Digidestined." Alita smiled at them, then turned to their parent's Digimon. "You know the prophecy, they have willingly stepped forward. This had to be."
That settled Genni scanned them so he could make their Crests. Genni had a few quick words with Alita; she looked shocked at whatever it was he told her. Alita then walked up to them and said that there were some things she needed to fill them in on while they waited. She led them outside to the garden. They all sat down on benches. "Okay, you are probably wondering about the prophecy I was talking about."
"Yeah, what was that about?" Eiji asked.
"Well, it's a bit of a story, I met the Digidestined when I was sixteen. About a year before I met them the Knights had found a prophecy, but it was encrypted. So we had to decode it. We had a small part of it decoded when I met them, I told them the part and we couldn't figure it out. When we finally decoded the entire thing we still couldn't figure it out, and for awhile forgot about it. When all of you were born, I brought it up again, just because I realized that it might apply to you. Well anyway, when I brought it up, they realized it probably did. Their reactions varied, some didn't want you to be Digidestined, as they put it, being a Digidestined was hell on earth and they didn't want you to go through that. In fact the only ones who weren't dead set against it was Matt, Tai, Raina, and Izzy. Then Raina died, and Matt changed his mind, Tai and Izzy became unsure. Izzy didn't say anything, but he had a small suspicion that Raina had been murdered and whoever did it would come after you if it seemed like you would become Digidestined. He told me that if you did have to fight, for me to do anything to help you."
"So what did the prophecy say exactly?" Ryo asked intrigued.
"Exactly the whole thing read off,
'When the Lights from the past are lost,
And Darkness threatens the Digiworld
Nine shall willingly step forward
They will harness abilities strengthened
By each by each generation and use it
To banish the Darkness
And once again restore the Lights'" Alita recited
"Well it does seem to apply, so now what?" Hibiki said.
"Yeah, we are wasting time." Kakeru commented.
"Well, you need partners, the Digimon that are here today are friends of your parents, they just might want the job, so talk to them about it." The teenagers nodded.
Suddenly Ryo blurted out; "We need a name!" Everyone looked at him blankly sweatdropping. "You know, a name, all superhero teams have names! The fantastic Four, JLA, X-men, hell even the Super Friends!"
"Watch your language." Alita commented offhand.
"You swear."
"Yes, but I'm older than you, and can therefore give you a good smack upside the head."
"Good point."
"You have a name, The Digidestined." Alita replied.
"No, our parents are The Digidestined, and always will be known as such." Kakeru said in his cool voice.
"Point." Alita seemed to think about it. "How about NDD. I mean, at this point, that's all I can come up with, its late."
"No it's not," Eiji said.
"It was two in the morning when I left home." The NDD's giggled, but Alita didn't join in. "Listen there's something I need to tell you. Genni said his spy in Myotismon's castle told him about something that happened last night that you should know about..."

Mai sat alone in the garden watching the fish float by and trying to digest what she had been told. The idea that her parents were now evil was hard for her to accept. She began wondering about her Digipartner, unless she had one, she couldn't help her mother or father. She had thought maybe Pumpkinmon might want to be her digimon because he knew her Dad; but he had taken a liking to Kitana. Elecmon seemed fond of her little brother Motoki. Mai figured that it was because Elecmon had been friends with her father TK, and Motoki looked an awfully lot like him. "Hello" said a soft voice behind her. Mai turned to see Wizardmon.
"Hi." Mai smiled kindly. "Sit down." He did and for awhile they just sat there.
"So you're Kari's daughter." He said after awhile.
"That I am." Mai thought thinking of her mother. Wizardmon nodded, "How are you holding up?"
"I'm okay." She said quickly.
"When your Mother said that it usually meant that she wasn't." Wizardmon said calmly.
Mai looked him in the eye, and he looked right back. Suddenly she began to cry. "What am I supposed to do?! Fight my Mom and Dad!? I can't I love them. And what if there's no way to turn them back! What if we have to... to..." She put her head in her hands as she shook with tears. Wizardmon quickly put his arm around the distraught girl. She laid her head on her shoulder, and began to settle down.
"Don't worry, we'll think about that when the time comes." Wizardmon said quietly.
Mai wiped her eyes and sat up, looking at Wizardmon questioningly. "We? Does that mean..."
"If you want me."
"Alright, we're partners then."

That night, The Destined, their digimon, and Alita all gathered in a large room in the house. The complete roll call was Ryo and Leomon, Kakeru and Meramon, Hime and Unimon, Reika and (to everyone's surprise) Ogremon, Hibiki and Centarumon, Eiji and Andromon, Mai and Wizardmon, Motoki and Elecmon, and Kitana and Pumpkinmon. All champion level digimon, some of which barely fit in the house. "Let's go save our parents!! What are we waiting for!"

AN: Okay, it's one in the morning, IF the ending was lame I think that's
the reason. ::Yawn:: I'll fix the team name thing in a while...:big yawn::

Seven hours later
Did I fall asleep? What time is it? @#$#! School starts in an hour!!!!
Oh shoot, oh shoot oh shoot! Bye! Guess I'm going to have to fix the
