The Race of Life
I'm walking across the desert
The sand is burning my feet
But now I've started running
'Cause I won't be beat
Now I've been in this race a long time
Running for as long as I can
So many people have dropped out
And my skin's gone from white to tan
Yet I keep on going
I might not get first place
But when I cross the finish
I want to see their face
At the beginning they told me to quit
But I just carried on
They all told me I was crazy
But now they're all gone
I'm all alone now
And the desert sun's gone down
But I smile in the cold
'Cause there's no way I'm gonna frown
Eventually I reach the finish
And nobody is there
Yet I realize something
I don't really care
This race was not for them
To show them that I am strong
This race was just for me
To prove I can carry on
