~ SANDRA LOU PEARCE CURLEY ~

November 6, 1941 - December 20, 2003

THE VIRTUOUS WOMAN

A good wife who can find?
She is far more precious than jewels.

The heart of her husband trusts in her,
And he will have no lack of gain.
She opens her hands to the poor,
And reaches out to the needy.

She looks well to the ways of her household,
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women have done excellently,
but you surpass them all."

Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.

(From Proverbs XXXI)

Blessed be the tie that binds
Our hearts in Christian love;
The fellowship of kindred minds
Is like to that above.

When we asunder part,
It gives us inward pain;
But we shall still be joined in heart,
And hope to meet again.

(Words: John Fawcett, 1740-1817
Music: Johann G. Nageli, 1768-1836
Arr. by Lowell Mason, 1792-1872 )
