*1 Week*
Alexia was on her way back from the grocery store and school was gonna start soon. She was driving and listening to music.
Nick was driving with A.J. to the mall. They were at a stop sign talking about the next album.
Nick was looking around and saw a convertible eclipse, and tapped A.J.-“Hey man check out that chick. She looks lost.”
A.J lowered his glasses-“yea poor chick she must be new.” Just then her light turned green and another car not watching and driving extremely fast slammed in to her. The car flipped over about three times and dragged against the floor catching completely on fire. The top was up (luckily). The car was totally on fire. Nick and A.J. just stared in amazement.
Nick snapped-“A.J. call an ambulance I’m goin’ in to get her.”
A.J. grabbed the phone-“Nick NO! wait till it gets here.” He tried grabbing his arm but Nick pulled away-“No it might be too late.”
Nick ran towards the car and felt the sudden rush of heat. The bright orange, yellow, and red hurt his eyes so he had to shield himself. The smell of oil and burning rubber filled his nostrils. He looked around and saw her. She was in the car, unconscious, the car was now sizzling and the smell got worse.
Nick knew there wasn’t much time. He kicked the window and grabbed her. He pulled and realized she wasn’t moving. He started panicking as things began popping and cracking. He tore the seat belt and got her out. She was small so he quickly picked her up and ran. Just as he reached A.J. a loud explosion went off sending both guys to the ground. Nick shielded the girl with his body
The ambulance got there and the paramedics ran to Nick. Once they took over the looked up and said-“She is still alive, let’s take her to the hospital.”
Nick realized he didn’t even check to see if she was alive. He was so focused on her that he didn’t realize his arm was burnt somewhat. The paramedics asked him to come to the hospital to get him checked up.
A.J. drove while Nick held his arm. The drove in silence for a while.
A.J. looked at Nick-“Nick, that was the most bravest thing I’ve ever seen you do. What you did for that girl is amazing, you put your life in danger to save her.”
Nick smiled-“You sound like Kevin, call them when we get there so they know why we wont be at the interview later.” A.J. nodded.
They arrived at the hospital and Nick ran in.
He asked the nurse-“Where did they take the girl who was in the car accident?"
The nurse looked at Nick and saw his burnt clothes-“Sir, you need to be looked at lemme get a-”
He interrupted her-“No, ma’am I need to know where they took her.” She sighed-“Up the elevator, room 243. A doctor will see you up there once you see the girl.” A.J. and Nick ran to the elevator and got to the room. The doctors were with her and they couldn’t get in. While waiting a doctor came up and asked Nick if he needed to be looked at and Nick gave up and said yes. A few minutes Nick had a bandage on his burns and his face was cleaned up.
By then the other guys where here, Brian came up to Nick and said-“ YO man, A.J. told us what happened. You really went in for that girl?”
Nick nodded and Kevin put a hand on his shoulder-“ That was the bravest thing I’ve ever seen you do. You are amazing for putting your life in danger for a stranger.” Nick grinned at A.J. cuz they knew he was gonna say that.
A few minutes later the Doctor came out and looked around-“Ok who is in charge of this young lady, we need her name.” Nick got up and walked to the doctor-“Uh…she didn’t have ID?” The doctor shook his head-“No, everything was burned in the fire. She needs to be taken care up she was injured bad and we need to know who is in charge.” Kevin stepped in-“No you need to know who is gonna pay her bill.” The doctor looked guilty cuz he knew he was right. Kevin shook his head slowly-“Listen doc. I’ll pay for the hospital bill you just help that girl ok?” The doctor nodded and handed Kevin the paper work. Nick looked at both guys then at Kevin-“Kev, you don’t have to I will…I want to be responsible for her.” Kevin shook his head-“nah, you’ve done enough for her.” Nick sighed and sat down he was exhausted. It was now 8p.m., and the guys were still waiting to hear from the doctors. Finally one came out and said-“ok she has a few burns that will need bandaging on her arms, she bumped her head prety hard and could have a concution. She bruised a few ribs and other than that a few cuts and bruises. You can go see her now, she might be sleeping.” Howie got up and shook the doctors hand-“Thanx doc.” Nick was the first one up and in the room. The girl laid in the bed, her eye was bruised and her lips was a little swollen. She had bandages on her arm, she was sleeping peacefully. They saw her move a little then she woke up.
