GEMMA
Gemma
was born and grew up in the North East of England near the small city
of Sunderland. She studied at an all girls Catholic school here until
the age of 18, when it was time to fly the nest and leave for the
"big smoke".
This
term should be used with a certain degree of irony, as in this case,
her destination was the rather modest city of Lancaster where she
studied English and Drama at St.Martin's
College for 3 years. Aside from various dramatic performances,
it was here that she discovered her passion for writing.
She
graduated in the year 2000 leaving many good freinds behind and moved
to the Lake District where she lived in the village of Ambleside
for several months. After returning home and in between the uninspiring
working environments of various bars and restaurants, she spent her
time persuading local publications to give her that all-important
journalistic break.
Her
lucky stars were shining and she got the chance she needed on her
local newspaper, where her journalistic potential itself shone! She
is now studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in Print Journalism at
Wesminster University.
