Cheyenne Dance Club

Dear Dance Family,
My apologies for not corresponding sooner! The last five months have been uncertain times for all of us, with public health orders and restrictions. However, we are seeing promising trends but we want to continue to exercise caution as restaurants, bars, gyms and schools around the state prepare for reopening.
This said and in accordance with the Extension to Public Health Order #2. The September 12, 2020 dance is cancelled.
On August 12, 2020 Governor Mark Gordon announced that updated public health orders will ease restrictions on the size of permitted outdoor gatherings beginning August 16. Public Health Order No. 2 has been updated to allow outdoor gatherings of no more than 50% of venue capacity, with a maximum of 1,000 people as long as social distancing and increased sanitization measures are in place. Indoor gatherings in a confined space remain limited to 50 persons without restrictions and 250 persons if social distancing and sanitization measures are incorporated.
The Wyoming Department of Health and the Governor continue to strongly recommend the use of face coverings in public settings where it is not possible or reasonable to stay physically apart.
On a positive note; all is not lost: As our new dance season will kick off on October 10th, 2020 through May 2021. We are working on the final details with the bands and hotel and have the information posted within the next few weeks.
My hopes are the efforts to understand the diversity in this illness are finally beginning to yield results and hope the knowledge will help accelerate development of vaccines and block further spread of Covid-19 and bring us all back together again.

Dear Dance Family,

It is with great excitement that we announce that the Cheyenne Dance Club will now be able to host a dance on April 10, 2021.

We are almost to a full year of living in a COVID-infected world. Not only has the pandemic had major medical and economic implications, but it also has impacted all of us psychologically and emotionally. As such, it was once quoted “There is a bit of insanity in dancing that does everybody a great deal of good”. So! Let’s get our dancing shoes ready, call friends, family and neighbors and let’s dance to the rhythm of new beginnings.

The meal selection for this dance: Teriyaki Salmon, London Broil, Oven Roasted Chicken Breast or Vegetarian.
Note: This year Little America increased our meal rate from $25.25 to $26.00 per meal. Please RSVP and get your dinner order in before April 5, 2021 at 5:00 PM.

As usual, a free dance lesson (Rumba) will be provided from 5 PM – 6PM (lesson is inclusive for all paid members and dinner guests). Dinner will be served from 6-7 PM. Dancing 7-9:30 PM

Our orchestra for the evening will be: The Dekette Big Band

Dance Only: $35.00 a couple, $20.00 for singles and $15.00 for students
Dance Lesson Only: $5.00 per person (does not include the dance)
Dinner and Dance $87.00 a couple, $46.00 for singles (dance lesson free with any dinner meal purchase)

Cheyenne Dance Club

Dear Dance Members, Family and New Friends, I am excited to announce we have finalized the contracts with The Don Ellwood Big Band and Little America Hotel and Resort for our May, 29,2021 Club Fund Raiser Dance.

First and foremost! it gave us endless pleasure and encouragement to see so many in attendance at the April 10th dance; and aside of dancing, everyone’s kind participation gave us a great opportunity to see each other, meet new friends and celebrate the milestones of the past.

This said: Come help us celebrate our 75th Dance Club Anniversary, with a fun filled evening of listening and dancing pleasure to the sound of the Don Elwood 18+ piece orchestra with some of the most popular tunes of the era, along with a variety of dance charts that keeps any dancer hopping. The set list of music incudes Foxtrot, Waltz. Cha Cha, Tango, Rumba, Polka, and all of the Swing dance tunes, to include even a slice of Country Western Dances. The musicians hail from along the Front Range, including Cheyenne and Denver.

Note: This dance will serve as fundraiser for the CDC dance season beginning (October 2021 – April 2022.) Proceeds from this dance will assist with band increases and hotel room fees. With this dance event, we will be hosting a Silent Auction, 50/50 and drawing TBD, if you or know someone who would like to donate an item or items, please contact David Urquidez 630-6093.

Tickets for this event will go on sale effective May 6, 2021. Tickets sold can be picked up at will call the day of the event or mailed to the ticket holder. All purchases of tickets and meals will be confirmed via email.

Dinner and Ticket Reservations, must be in By May 21, 2021, as table seating will be assigned. If reserving for a group please indicate number in your group

Reminder Memberships Season Pass only valid for Oct 2021–April 2022 Dance Season

Make your evening complete by joining us for Dinner from 6-7 PM, and receive a free Jitter-Bug dance lesson prior to dinner from 5-6 PM. Cost of dinner is $26.00 per person and all dinner guests will receive assigned reserved seating. Dinner and Ticket reservations must be made by May 21, 2021. Your menu choices are: London-broil, Roasted Chicken Breast, Teriyaki Salmon or Vegetarian. (Note meals cannot be purchased at the door and take out dinner orders are not permitted per hotel policy)

This is a club fundraising event and will include; Silent Auction, 50/50 Drawing and Door Prizes.

Dear Dance Family, Hopefully, everyone has weathered another summer in the saddle of many trails with good health and amazing blessings!

My apologies for not communicating sooner, but we were not able to finalize our dance dates and contract with Little America until July 8, 2021. The challenges with rising food costs throughout the hospitality industry, and room rental increases due to additional Covid sanitation requirements set by the CDC, Little America was seeking a 9% to 17% increases. However, after several months of conversation with management, plus our loyal patronage all these years; Little America agreed to waive any increases for this season and honor our previous contract.

A great big Thank You, to everyone who donated items for the silent auction at our last dance, it was deeply appreciated more than you know.. Another big Thank You, to all those who attended and brought friends and family for the first time, as it was an amazing time. This said; I am excited to announce this season’s dances will be continued at Little America Hotel and Resort, along with the big band sounds of the DEKtette’s and Don Elwood Band.

Valentine's Day is generally a personal occasion for couples, who plan to spend time together and cherish their relationship.
