COBURG
JUNIOR FOOTBALL CLUB HISTORY
In
1999, Newlands Coburg and Coburg Amateur Junior
Football Clubs amalgamated to form the club known
today as Coburg juniors.
SEASON
2000
Season
2000 was a hard season off ground whilst on
ground with inspirational efforts by all our
teams saw the Club win it's first Flag as the new
club.
Other
highlights were:
Under
15's win Coburg's 1st Flag.
Under
17's made is to the Prelimanary Final.
Under
13's finished just outside the 4 and gave it
their best.
Under
11's finished 3rd, were knocked out at
Prelimanary Final.

SEASON
2001
Again In
2001 the previous years under 15 and previous
years under 17's side came together to be an
elite team of footballers who won the Under 17
flag to give the club 2 consecutive flags in 2
different age groups.
Under
10's made it all the way to the Prelimanary final
where in extra time after the 4th quarter went
down but still fighting to Mill Park.
Other
Highlights included:
Under 17

19 votes.
Under 15
Best and Fairest Winner Daniel Rajab with 6 best
on grounds.
The Club
coming 4th overall in The Lew Hall Trophey.
In 2001
our younger age groups were also involved in
finals action but sadly didn't make it to the big
one but did a great job to get were they did.
SEASON
2002
Season
2002 saw a tough year both on and off the ground.
With no
teams in finals and missing under 17's this was
demanding on the very young club.
Our
under 15's going down in 13 games to very
disiplined teams but found an even match when we
played Diamond Creek. Winning one game through
the season showed the tireless determination and
heart. This is a good stepping stone for the
under 17 team in 2003.
SEASON 2003
A great effort by all involved. The tireless work
put in by so many put the club in good stead for
2004.
With no Under 17 team the club serged ahead, with
2 out of 3 teams in the finals, after all 2 out
of 3 aint bad.
The Under 11's showed strength to get to were
they did but did not preform to the standard
needed to make it past the second semi final.
The Under 13's on the other hand had a good
season, were in the four for most of the season,
but boomed out in the second semi, they were a
strong team unit but were'nt strong enough on the
day.
The Under 15's, were our senior
team, they did not enjoy alot of onfield sucsess
but they did manage to put a few wins on the
board. They were good role models for the younger
age groups as they did not give up and they kept
trying.
