WebSTAT - Free Web Statistics


Blitz Basic first appeared on the Amiga in nineteen something something, and it was a kind of Oasis/Blur affair. People would argue which was better at what and why and they would make programs and boast that theirs was best. Now, it's appeared on the PC! In 2D and 3D format. The 2D one was given away on the cover of a magazine and it seems to be a lot simpler that it was on the Amiga. Although I have only just started learning to use this language, it seems like a very powerful and versatile one to have.

Alien Invaders Section

Until I get round to making a separate Invaders section for my game then I will just update this bit for a while.

Bugs - Formation sometimes goes straight from left to right without going down. Or is it just me?
Remove sprite from menu before continuing.

Several improvements, bug fixes. Cleaner smaller code.
Will try to update this page a bit more soon. bit busy at the moment.

NOTE: Seems to me like all the hosts have stopped allowing downloads of files ending in .exe; so after you have downloaded this installer you will need to put a dot in the name to make it an .exe file. so you can run that to install.

Alien Invaders - V0.14    >> click to download <<

Changes in this version include a complete overhaul of program layout. Implemented a sprite object to encapsulate data and functions; the code is now much cleaner, readable and easier to program.

Added/Rewrote ParticleSystems type to allow creation of diverse effects over many frames. Particles are handled automatically in one function. SmokeTrail, EngineThrust and explosions. PS's can be attached to sprites!

Added independent Alien animation allows for a more realistic view of a scene. ie not all moving at once.

Added background moon which moves along as the levels progress.

Added aliens shooting round and rectangular bullets, each alien now holds it's own score value.

Added main menu with pointer sprite.

Somewhere along the line I changed the name to Alien Invaders.

Sorted out required files and repacked zip file. should be smaller now.

 

SPACE INVADERS - V0.10

I am now on version 0.10, this is a fully working version, with minor bugs that don't make much difference and lots of changes that make a big difference.

Features now include concrete shields that are blasted away by bullets, a new HUD, Reflect-O-Shield, formation loading, a new Alien and other minor stuff (Pick-axe, torch, dynamite etc)

Also I will try to update the screen shots because they are of earlier versions.
