Chapter 3

----Noon came to Elemntria, and everyone was getting ready for the parade. It was rather small; Tsurinichi rode on Pagoesis’ back waving to the people. She was happy seeing the children’s faces and her people’s loving gaze. The dragons followed her as they walked back to the palace. The people had fun at the small festival that was held up at the palace, and enjoyed the stories given by the elders. Even Selena, Queen of the Elven people, told stories about the beauty of the forests in Crystria.

----When everything was finished, the twin suns began to set, the last of the suns rays set a-glow the fields of Elemntria. The evening festivities were about to being at Esermas. Most of the people in Elemntria were there, dancing and enjoying the last harvest day of Mabon. Baker’s had brought an assortment of breads and pastries, while butcher’s brought smoked meats and jerky. Even when the people brought gifts, Tsurinichi accepted but wished the people did not. Like her father she was happy only when her people were happy.

----The evening festivities were coming to a close, when Aurora stood up. “People of Elemntria, I know tonight is one of the best nights of this year, but all good things must come to a close. Our Empress, Tsurinichi is the finest person to come to rule Elemntria in over 10,000 years, so it pains me to do this.” Aurora walked over to Tsurinichi, the dragons lowered their heads. “Tsurinichi,” Aurora knelt, “I love you as if you were my own daughter, but things can become bitter when a past promise must be kept. You mother knew what would happen if another power struggle happened again and would not ever wish that upon the nation, so before she died she promised that you will do us one favor for your immortality and I ask you know to keep it.” She lowered her head, “I ask you to return to Crystria and settle the problems that have a raised there.”

----The room filled with silent whispers, people hoping she would not go. Tsurinichi knelt down to the Goddess and raised Aurora’s face with her hands. “I have no control over the past, nor do I have control over the future. Things happen because they were meant to happen. The Gods and Goddesses, as well as my mother, did what they thought best for the people so they would not go through another war like that.” Tsurinichi could do nothing but smile. “I will go to Crystria but on one condition.”

----Aurora was stunned, as if she already knew what was happening. Tsurinichi did not seem sad, but only relieved that this was happening. “What is that your majesty?” Aurora did not want to hear the condition.

----“That you, Aurora Goddess of Light, and Nyx, Goddess of Darkness, help me establish a government that will serve the people from here on in.” A gasp came within the room. What is she thinking the people thought? “I no longer wish that this immortal government to continue. I know that you are used to it, but there is time for change. I find it best that you the people decide what is best for your lives. I will remain as a figure head but that is all. I can help guide your actions through the future, tell you what you do wrong and how you might want to fix it, but that is all I wish to do from now on.” Tsurinichi’s smile lit the room and people started to agree with what she was saying. Aurora lovingly looked at the Empress, “So who do I have coming with me on this little venture?”

----Aurora quickly realized she was being talked to. “We were going to send the dragons, and hopefully Trisha and Daken,” Aurora smiled, “Only if they approved thought.”

----“Well Trisha, Daken do you approve.” Tsurinichi leaned to the side and looked at them standing there. Trisha and Daken looked at each other and then nodded. “Well, I guess it has been settled. We will leave once this new government has been established.”

----“I am so happy that you are not upset about leaving,” Aurora hugged Tsurinichi. “Know about this government?”

----Tsurinichi backed away from Aurora. “Don’t worry Goddess; I will remain as the Empress, just that I will not have a lot of power. Most of the power will go to the people,” she smiled. “I am going to get preparations for tomorrows meeting. I would like a representative from each guild in the city to come so we can figure out this new government. Get some rest everyone; it has been a long day.”
