Dark Art Defence
Teacher: Professor Juan Jeriea (Professor Jeriea)
Books Used: Danger Behind a Creature
"Welcome to the Dark Art Defence class, often referred to as DADA or Defence Against Dark Arts. Paying strict attention will yield tasteful fruits if and when you encounter magical danger. Dark Arts include curses, jinxes, counter-curses, dangerous creatures and dangerous wizards or witches."
"This grade will be devoted to defence against creatures. Your book will provide an excellent reference. Many lessons in this class will be practical. For your first lesson, please put away your books, grab your wands and line up outside the classroom."
Professor Jeriea ushered everyone out and led them to a lone corridor. He then tapped on a brick with his wand. It slid out and revealed a small bronze key. He picked up the key and pushed the brick back into the wall. He slid the key into a concealed keyhole on the brick. A grimy door swung open. The whole class filed inside the class.
"That," Professor Jeriea pointed to a rattling closet. The class withdrew from it, slightly alarmed.
"is a Boggart. Actually, the creature in the closet is called a Boggart. A Boggart is a shape-shifter which takes the shape of whatever frightens one most. I will leave it to you to read up on this magnificent creature but now we shall practice defence against it."
Professor Jeriea whipped out his wand.
"The charm for defence is riddikulus! Please everyone, think of what frightens you most. Then, make it assume a shape which you find amusing. Each of you will get one chance. I will now release the Boggart."
Professor Jeriea used a Charm to open the door.

"Very good, class. For homework, you are required to write an essay on the Boggart. Refer to your books. Class dismissed!"
