This month's testimony is entitled:

Overcoming Strongholds

Submitted by Amanda, site moderator.

Alot people have a stronghold. A stronghold is a sin that you continually committ, and is hindering you in your walk with Christ. It's somewhat like an addiction, only it doesn't have to deal with drugs. I personally have a stronghold. My stronghold deals with lust, impure thoughts, even masturbation. I haven't been actively doing much to overcome it, I just sort of passively hoped it would go away. But in June I decided that I had had enough. Through much prayer, fasting, concentration, and fighting temptation, I'm on my way to overcoming it. And while it may never completely be gone, I'm almost free from this. I'm not bothered anymore by impure thoughts haunting me every single day. I'm beginning to have control over my stronghold. I just thought this story might encourage you that if you have a stronghold, it can be overcome. Just remember: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)
