Team policy on registrations and insurance
EIHA memberships for the coming season will be valid from 1st October 2007 to 30th September 2008, and IHPA memberships are valid for one year from date of application.
The taking out of EIHA memberships by players who already hold an IHPA membership is not compulsory, it is a voluntary thing. However, taking out EIHA membership gives a different insurance package, and it enables registered players to take part in officially sanctioned challenge matches.
The Aardvarx General Manager recommends that players take out both EIHA and IHPA memberships, but it is not a requirement of the team to hold both. Any team member who holds an IHPA membership will be absolutely fine to continue with training sessions and scrimmage matches, as will EIHA holders, but EIHA holders get the 'extra' of being team registered and therefore able to take part in officially recognised EIHA matches.
As the club is registered with the English Ice Hockey Association (Reg No.212), we are in a position now to register our players with the EIHA as officially recognised Aardvarx players.
Registration Process
Players with an existing EIHA membership which they would like to renew should let the General Manager know as soon as possible. The EIHA are trialling an online renewal system. The fee for membership will be £33, payable by cash or cheque submitted to the General Manager. Cheques payable to 'Richard Allan' please.
Female players who are currently EIHA registered with a Women's Team will need to take out EIHA Rec membership as listed above, plus will also need apply to have their membership extended to cover their involvement in Rec Hockey. You will need to print off an EIHA WLHP v1.0 form and have it filled out by the Manager of your Women's Team before submitting it to the General Manager of the Aardvarx.
Players wishing to be IHPA registered should print out and complete the IHPA Membership Application Form and submit it to the address listed on the form along with payment.
Benefits of Registration
In addition, EIHA player registration enables an extra level of insurance cover, details of which can be found in the EIHA's Insurance Document, as published on the EIHA Rec Section website in the Club Admin section.
Limitations
Further information on the registration process can be obtained by e-mailing the club at alt.aardvarx@googlemail.com
All Aardvarx players must be covered by an insurance policy, including players who are new to the team (the General Manager will have more information on how this can be arranged for new players).
Players wishing to create a new EIHA registration with the Aardvarx should approach the General Manager (Richard Allan) and request a form, or print one off from this page. Once completed, players should submit it to Richard Allan for countersigning at a training session. (The bottom section of the form needs to be filled in by a team official.) The completed form should be submitted along with two passport photographs (name in capitals on the back of both please), a photocopy of your birth certificate or passport, and payment of £33. Payment can be by cash cheque, made payable to 'Richard Allan'. Your completed pack of documents, payment and photos should be submitted to the General Manager who will process it on your behalf.
Any challenge matches that are organised through the EIHA will include officially sanctioned and accredited referees and linespersons, under the condition that all players and coaches taking part in the match are EIHA registered with their respective teams.
There are no limits on the number of teams that a player can register for, so long as the registration process is carried out for each team. This means that players registered with other teams who wish to register with the Aardvarx will need to fill out the appropriate paperwork, bring the appropriate proofs and submit the same fees for their registration. The EIHA fee for a second team registration is £20.
