Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java(tm). City Limits keyboardist and guitarist Cary Ordway wrote and recorded his first songs when he was just 16 growing up in Central Washington State. His first single, "World of Woe" was Pick Hit of the Week on KMEL radio, the most popular Top 40 radio station in Central Washington at the time. Cary was lead guitar and lead vocalist for his band, the Aztecs, which was named one of the top three rock bands from that area.

A high school trumpet soloist, Cary then studied music at Central Washington State University, where he also was in the college stage band as a trumpet player. He also continued playing rock in a college band called Bean Soup.

Cary left music for several years while he pursued is career in advertising and publishing, but returned to rock-and-roll in the late 80's when, by chance, he met up with one of the members of Bean Soup. With Cary playing keyboards this time, that group quickly evolved into the Middle Ages and later Flashback, both classic rock groups that played in the Seattle area for several years. Later, the same core of musicians became Dawson Creek, which played country night spots in the Seattle area, as well as in Pioneer Square.

In the mid-90's, Cary and two other members of Dawson Creek formed BirdDog, a trio that wrote, recorded and played all original music. The group released a CD with several of Cary's original songs. Several of those songs were released to the public through mp3.com and two of them quickly ran up the charts to the top 100 songs nationally. "Little Love Song" reached No. 21 (out of 1500 songs charted).

Cary relocated to California in the late 90's and formed a country group called Ransom with former City Limits bass player Ray Schultz. Cary and Ray then hooked up with former Ranch Rockers guitar player and singer Les Allen to form City Limits. Later, current City Limits drummer Larry Montegre joined the group and, after Ray's death, the final ingredient - bass player Mike C -- was added to the current City Limits line-up.
