Guevarra Institute of Technology started from humble beginning. In 1991 a certain vocational
in Gingoog City named MN Institute of Technology has given up operating the school due to
bankruptcy. Mr. Enrique S. Guevarra who was then a mere instructor at that time took the
challenge of assuming the operation for three years. Because of God's grace and faithfulness,
the school survived for the next three years (1991-1994).
By 1994, MNIT was formally changed
into being Guevarra Institute of Technology, Inc. duly registered with Securities and Exchange
Commission and Technical Education Skills and Development Authority. Pure vocational courses
such as Electricity, Electronics , Automotive Mechanics and General Radio Comm. Operator
was initially offered by the school. A year after, computer courses such as Computer Secretarial
and Associate in Computer Science were being offered under the recognition of Commission on
Higher Education. The succeeding year of that computer course operation, GIT dared to operate
Preschool Education. Until this time, the school has acquired Government Recognition from
Department of Education for Complete
Elementary Course. Two Years ago, GIT dared another challenge of operating Secondary Education.
By God's faithfulness, the school is now operating first to fourth year high school courses.
The existence of GIT Internet Cafe along the National Highway has helped the school a lot in the area
of raising additional funds for the operation of the school. The future undertakings of GIT
will surely be part of the school's history as it marks towards the challenge of competence
and excellence.
Guevarra Institute of Technology is committed to provide QUALITY EDUCATION making the individual SKILLED, GODFEARING and SERVICE-ORIENTED one.
To become the CENTER OF EXCELLENCE in Technical and Computer Education in Gingoog City by the year 2005 and beyond
