Grants first guitar was a second hand black Aron Les Paul copy,
which his parents bought for him. It cost £30 at the time.
Grant was 10 years old and trained and taught himself to play.
Grant uses a 1967 Sunburst Jazzmaster made famous by Elvis Costello in the 80’s. He first saw it in an Elvis Costello. He also has possession of a 1964 Silver Jazzmaster and a Sunburst 59 Jazzmaster + 73 Sunburst Fender Telecaster. Grants other guitars include a Gibson Explorer, a Green Custom Jazzbird, Cherry Red Gibson SG, a Sunburst Gibson J-200 Acoustic and a natural finish Yamaha acoustic (for recording).
He uses a diversity of different pedals and effects to produce the distinctive Feeder sound. The main amps they use are: Fender Twins, Vox AC30’s, Boogie and Marshall + Marshall and Orange Speaker Cabinets |

Taka built his own bass for recording, while working at Tokyo guitar makers ESP.
Taka found an old Japanese jazz bass copy for £30.
He altered its appearance and made it look like a Jazzmaster.
He also had ‘Combat ‘ which was a Tokyo guitar workshop; make several other basses of his own design. Taka describes the individual guitars as: A Spector meets Prince's guitar Rickenbacker meets Prince's guitar His main bass however is a copied body from Gretch semi acoustic shape coupled with a solid, sparkly gold, ash body.
