The retiree's hobby is to create miniature buildings and landscapes. His home is full of such art pieces.
Wuzhen is a tourist attraction about 2 hours away by coach from the city of Shanghai. It was a village with old houses lined on both sides of a narrow canal. It has now become a tourist spot with large collections of beds, furniture and clothes used by people long ago. Tourists find fresh water pearls, tea leaves, titbits and sweets very cheap.

The centre is housed in a secondary school. This enables the two generations to interact in a more natural envioronment.
